He is a court appointed lawyer but still in yet he should be more willing to help his client. It has been over a month and my fiance has not spoken to his lawyer one time. I have tried on several occasions to get information and help for my fiance with no luck. I have called his office several times and sent two letters. My fiance has tried calling many times but they won't answer the phone for him and he has sent 1 letter. My fiance and I are trying to work out out a plea agreement so he doesn't have to go to prison but have an alternate sentence. So far the biggest issue with Todd Smith is his poor communication. At this point due to lack of communication I have no idea if anything is being done to negotiate a plea agreement or not.
