Heather Hansen is the best family lawyer you can get. She is very well respected amongst her peers in family law in Ontario, for good reasons. She accepts zero BS. You're lucky if you get to work with her. You'll be sorry if you have to go up against her.

Too busy to pay close attention to most of her files. Seems to focus on a few high priority clients at the expense of the rest, so does not deliver. Her associates do most of her work, yet she charges top dollar. Go with a low-key and less expensive lawyer who will deliver for you.

Great lawyer. Don't hire her if you need a babysitter or need therapy as she's super busy and doesn't often have time for small-chat. However, even though I was impatient I also got exactly what I needed--tough lawyer with no bs. Ultimately she recommended mediation: smart. She sorted out a solid deal for me and I was able to move on with my life without it all dragging on. A+ support team of associates and clerks.

To be fair, Heather is smart & experienced and willing to tell you things you may not want to hear, which is a plus. However, she was late and unprepeared for my mediation and did not get me any results. She is the master of the bait and switch: you hire her but you are hiring her clerk or associate who missed important details and made errors in their calculations, which cost me in my settlement. She promised communication but literally NEVER returned my calls or emails. She is mainly bluster--talk without action.

Wouldn’t want her on the other side. Top lawyer that’s respected in the bar — told me to shop around. Met with two other lawyers, glad I went with her. Great resolution to a challenging life problem. Hope I don’t need Heather again — but, will recommend to anyone who asks.

This is the first review for anything that I've ever written. I never understood the folks who took that time. But now I do. Every part of me wants to warn any person I can about working with Heather Hansen. Smoke and mirrors. Talks your talk, doesn't keep meetings, isn't prepared for your case when yo do meet, cancels and pushes you off. You end up getting delayed, it costs you thousands. If there is one lawyer you will guaranteed have an awful experience with it's her. I think her workload is too full and she isn't giving everyone's case due attention. She is a victim of her own word of mouth. Three friends have personally thanked me for warning them against her after they heard similar feedback. It would be worth the wait if the work itself was good. But you're basically waiting for sub-par, mediocre work at best.

After sharing with her the particulars of my divorce strategy, she then went and called my ex and took my ex on as a client. Heather is a snake.

Heather is outstanding. Her terrific work is improved due to great relationships with Martha and other legal stars in Toronto. She cars intensely about her clients' situations. AAA+

i don't know this lawyer but she sure likes to post a sexy picture of herself. most family lawyers are scum. if i ever go up against her then i will bring her to the cleaners and waste her clients money by motion after motion, and not charge my client. how? because i don't do it for the money. i will win.

Heather represented my wife when we separated 9 years ago. Heather made ridiculous claims and outrages assertions. She created a rift that will never heal and damaged our children. She cost the family a fortune. Not the person to help your family in a difficult situation. I don't know how she sleeps at night.

Heather and her team - associates and clerks - are smart. She wants to get you through and is conscious of not spending your fees to go down rabbit holes that don't get you closer to the end. My husband and his pricey lawyer pulled every trick in the book - delays, refusing to disclosure, provoking at every turn. At times I was super frustrated and couldn't understand what seemed like our own inaction. I now completely understand and respect the counsel I was given. I would've spent a fortune pursuing peripheral issues. Yes I still spent a ton but that's not on Heather. That's the person she was extracting me from. Also, yes, she's busy. I get how it may seem she doesn't know what's going on at times but in fact she actually does and makes sure you are in good hands. Her clerk is fantastic as are her associates. In short, if you want an ethical, wise, kind, end-game focussed Titan - retain Heather et. al.

Helped me sort out a mess with a terrible partner and his idiot lawyer. Professional and great value. Heather is still a young lawyer but seemed to deal with the other side as she had been doig it for decades. Will send my friends to her any day.

Heather represented a child. She constantly forgot the child's name, manipulated the child and lied to the child. She is incompetent. This lawyer should be disbarred and is not recommended .

Represented me in divorce proceedings and subsequent custody/access proceedings. Incredibly efficient and competent given her year of call. She took a no-nonsense approach and was not afraid to put the lawyer on the other side in his place (and at times me, when it was needed). Incredible value for money given that my ex-wife hired a pricey downtown-Toronto hired gun and Heather took him on with humour and success every step of the way. At the end of an otherwise bad situation I feel like I got what I was entitled to and made the best out of a bad situation. I would recommend her to anyone who simply wants to move on and do so in a highly efficient manner without getting taken to the cleaners! She made the process as easy as it could have been.
