DO NOT RECOMMEND. At my initial consultation, I was told several things that after signing a contract with an expensive, NON REFUNDABLE retainer, turned out to be completely false. If you'd like an attorney that is uncommunicative to the point of utter uselessness, feel free to use this firm. So many aspects of my case were not discussed with me prior to executing and I am extremely dissatisfied with the results. Do not waste your time or money.

Mr Abbott is a criminal with shady connections to certain Cherokee County judges. He has one interest, billable hours and knows how to work the system to rob someone in broad daylight.

I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today without the help of BJ Abbott. I was in a legal battle with my ex and he assisted with multiple matters. He is very knowledgeable with Family Law and helped me to secure a future with my two sons. I believe he is ethical and maintains integrity during intense legal battles. I visited multiple lawyers prior to selecting Abbott & Abbott. Other lawyers flat out told me that they did not care what the truth was. It was important to me to have a lawyer believe in me to build a trust and confidence. Mr. Abbott believed in my case and I could tell by his dedication. BEWARE. B.J. works in a "good ole buddy" system. He treats clients like you work for him and not him for you. Most of the work and legal advice was gathered by defendant's friend. When the hard work was emailed to him, he charged for the emails. Attorney did nothing but recommend a fold at trial. He knew it was a good case, but did not want to upset his friends on the other side, and did not do his homework to prepare. Always out of the office, negligent to return calls. Terrible. B.J. is a crook, and I have yet to see that he used any of his law degree to help his client. ALL ABOUT THE MONEY and his friends. Shame on him.

BJ Abbott is a crook. He will take your money and then withdraw before the case is settled. The receptionist is rude and the turnover of employees is the worst I've ever seen. That within it self should tell you something. Within a 9 month period I was charged over $6k just in telephone calls, emails and one subpoena. Hadn't had one day in court and I was charged that amount. Then when I questioned things, he withdrew. He would tell me one thing and then next time we spoke, he would tell me something else. I Would never recommend him to anyone, EVER!!!

Abbott & Abbott are criminals. I lost custody of my daughter in what couldn't have been a simpler case - for an attorney who actually works. I scraped together the $6,000 retainer. BJ was never in, never working on my case.
His wife, Parri, should also be disbarred and their entire incompetent and vile office staff unemployed. One dropped ball after another, an ever-revolving door of office members, a carnival of a law office.
Abbott & Abbott attempted to withdraw from my case just a few days before mediation. I had to contact the judge with this unethical mess; they were made to attend. Parri was useless and couldn't have represented me less than if she was the appointed counsel for my ex-husband. They ended up withdrawing before my final court hearing and I was forced to attend for myself, by myself.
Horrible human beings, worthless attorneys, and the reason I've lost my daughter. Steer far, far away from Abbott & Abbott.

My ex-husband used Abbott & Abbott. We recently found out that Abbott & Abbott charged him to have an order dropped that I had already taken care of through my attorney. While speaking about this topic he said hiring Abbott & Abbott was the biggest mistake he ever made. He hired the wife and because of a "conflict of interest" he got the husband (conflict was never explained). So, they stole money from him. As you can imagine at the time of our divorce we were not on speaking terms so at the time no one knew. However, today we get along great and work well together. I've asked him to also write a review so other people considering the Abbott & Abbott firm will understand that Abbott & Abbott can not be trusted. Abbott & Abbott should be embarrassed of their business practices

BJ Abbott is a jam up attorney as far as winning cases. However, he charges exorbitant fees and never tells you exactly how much the fees are (aside from the retainer) until after you have gone to court. Then you are contacted by phone and told what you owe and that if you don't pay it Mr. Abbott will sue you. BEWARE every phone call, email and conversation you have with the Abbotts or the para you will be charged for. The charge for making copies is 150 dollars. Similar charges for phone conversations. I don't know how these people have a clear conscience. They rip people off for a living. Yes, attorneys cost money but what they charge is beyond the pale.

BJ represented me in the initial divorce...when my ex tried taking me back to court for contempt... and when I went for full custody... amazing atty, extremely knowledgeable, knows how to weed through the "drama" typically associated & get the important facts out... have sent 2 others to him & they have had the same results. Would recommend to anyone..this guys KNOWS family law!

Excellent representation by this firm! I got the benefits of both Mr. & Mrs. Abbott in my case 24/7! I will refer all family and friends to Abbott...and on the plus side he has an aweseome paralegal that take time out to listen. BJ is very agressvive in the courtroom and a go getter.

BJ Abbott in Cobb & Cherokee. In Cherokee he and atty Ballinger are the only game in town & they take advantage of it! Abbott takes a very high retainer, & then does nothing. Before you know it, its been 2 yrs,your broke & you never had your day in court. He won't stick up for you at the temp hearing & he sends his WIFE to the mediation.If you e-mail him to ask what is going on, he charges you $350. If you want an appt, you get there expecting to see him & you talk to his paralegal. I was in court one day and saw a young man down on his luck representing himself in his divorce. When the Judge asked what happened to his atty Abbott, he replied: he took all my money but we never got to court. So now,I'm broke and representing myself. If he or atty Ballinger screw up, or forget discovery, or just don't have time to communicate with their client, they get together to fabricate a reason and change court dates. In my opinion these two atty's take advantage of their clients. Shame on them!!!
