Mike Nyhof has been my lawyer for the past five years. During this time, Mike has always worked one on one with me. Brilliant lawyer! Compassionate highly recommend- my separation/divorce started off rather rancorously but My.Nyof's professionalism helped us come to terms amicably. I cannot say enough about Mike and his exceptional legal firm. After several years of being stagnated and stuck in a legal swamp, Mike was able to get things moving again. I did try a large corporate firm to help me with my divorce...the type of firm with the million dollar view and suits to Match. However, after thousands of dollars spent I was no where ahead from where I started! Discouraged from this legal quagmire, I decided to give Mike’s firm a shot at my ever complex and changing separation (there were many...many variables)!!!! Mike intently listened to all of the facts presented to him, which were a lot! Once Mike absorbed all the information he put forth a dynamic and actionable plan to end the stalemate. Thanks to Mike and his excellent staff, I am now legally divorced. If you want to get things done...if you want to avoid all the legal pitfalls...I highly recommend you bypassing the larger firms and head straight over to Michael Nyhof. You will not be disappointed!

Mr. Nyhof a client who has been diagnosed with a mental diseased with a mental disease called Frontotemporal Disorder by TWO Doctors (well Know) He is NOT well, and is not capable to make decisions.

Oh where to start. If your looking to spend thousands of dollars than mike is your guy! He will convince you to continue fighting even when settlement is achievable. He is sloppy with knowing your case and will often get your children's names and ages wrong while in the court room, making you feel embarrassed. He encourages hostility between parents and will instigate until your at the point where you feel like arguing over petty things are a good thing. I feel his main objective is to get you to trial in order to make the big bucks. Does not look out for the best interest of the kids AT ALL!

I went with 2 other lawyers prior to working with Mr. Nyhof and I wish I had gone to him first. Mike is extremely knowledgeable, tactful, to the point and he is overall incredible at what he does. Mike was successful with communication, and motions while maintaining my image as a reasonable man. I am a dad, and Mike took the time to listen to me, understand my situation, and then work with me to ensure my son's best interests were put first. That is exactly my goal and clearly also Mike's. If you are looking for someone insightful, to the point, fast, and who maintains your image, then my recommendation is Mike Nyhof. I met with Mr. Nyhof a little over a year ago and I can't begin to thank him enough for all that he has done for me. Right from the beginning Mr. Nyhof was very understanding and on top of the task at hand. Other lawyers that I have dealt with in the past had the approach, "I did what you asked me to do." However Mr. Nyhof always did what was in my best interest. He was always well prepared when it came to going to court and always knew what to say. Over all I am happy so far, however we have not yet really set out a game plan as to what action will be taking place, or what to expect, Weather or not he thinks things will work out for the best or not. I just feel a little left out in the dark. But that being said Mike takes the time to listen and understands, He shows compassion. And every time I leave his office I tend to feel a bit more settles.

Consider this the first installment of my review of Mike Nyhof, and it's a real positive one. Besides being eminently competent, experienced, and professional, Mike is one of those rare lawyers who actually cares about his clients. He made me feel looked after from the beginning. Nothing fun about divorce, but so far I'm glad to have Mike in my corner.

Mike was the lawyer who represented my husband. Not an honest bone in either of them. Not sure how he can live with himself for the nastiness he showed. Abusers stick with Abusers. If you want someone willing to lie for you, he's the man. Definitely the epitome of the classic lawyer. Taking money from an elderly father with memory problems to pay his clients bills ought to be criminal. No scruples. Just out for the money. Don't know how he can represent a father who didn't want to pay for his kids....so who won? Cuz now his kids will not talk to their father.... I got the better deal. Thanks, Mike!

Mike was great to work with. He understood what was important and got my case resolved quickly and reasonably. The small firm was way better in meeting my needs compared to what I've heard about bigger firms, and the cost was way lower too. I'd recommend Mike Nyhof to friends and family.

Since his hit to the head on his bicycle about two years ago does not appear to know which way is up. Can honestly say that this man dropped the ball in court for me in a major way against Michael Menear in Woodstock court despite my strong words that the proceedings were based on untruths and in fact not based on fact. Obviously his feeble attempts to disagree were of no use. As mentioned by another client Mike is not a cool well prepared individual in court but a bumbling disheveled mess who does not appear to be prepared and is not in fact apparently well prepared as I witnessed at court. I would also agree that Mike does not care about his client. In conclusion Mike does not care about FAIRNESS as defined by the Law Society of Upper Canada, he may win an easy case representing a crying mom (female winning as per Family Law) but if you are a man and need someone with balls to have your back , forget about Mike Nyhof.

Good work done in a nasty divorce case, good results, good value for the money. I think some people are not well qualified to assess the quality of a lawyer's work (maybe over-extended emotionally, maybe not quite so smart as they fancy, maybe presenting a lost cause to start off with, maybe expecting too much justice from our justice system which cannot care as much about us as we do ourselves) and I suspect that goes a long way to explain some of the negative comments I have read here concerning Mike Nyhof's work. Mike was well-prepared for a court-room battle - knowledgeable of the matter and with a well-researched brief - and I observed him to have an excellent rapport with both judges we faced.

Paid over 14,000.00 for a questioning, got no more access over Christmas, allowed a questionable trust issue to go forward, costing over $120,000.00. Did not properly address child support with FRO, did it myself. Poor attitude, not organized, did not return my complete file when asked for. Not impressed , complete waste of money.

I fully recommend Mike. The business of divorce needs to be addressed swiftly with credibility, experience and utilizing strategy. Great rapport, and his staff: Kristal and Jenn are excellent to work with. Don't be fooled by large firms as he has consistently won against Bill Clayton in my case. Worth every dollar. Doesn't seem to care what his clients are feeling. Goes headstrong into a case without applying common sense to what effects court decisions will impact upon his client and others.
