I am an out of state attorney but know nothing of criminal law. A family member was arrested for DUI in San Diego . This was the first time ever a family member has been involved with the criminal justice system. We located Mr. Mueller on line. What a fortuitous choice ! I am a drug and alcohol counselor and treat literally hundreds of people dealing with DUI's every year.
Rick is by far the best DUI attorney I have dealt with in California regarding DUI issues. Here is why:
-He wins more DMV cases than any lawyer I have ever heard of. Remember you have TWO hearings whenever you get arrested and charged with a DUI. A court hearing and a DMV hearing. The DMV comes first usually and they give you TEN DAYS to even request a hearing or they will AUTOMATICALLY suspend your license and you are screwed.
-He answers emails and other communication immediately...often out of business hours. He is the most responsive lawyer I have ever dealt with.
-He is a SHARK in the courtroom (where he needs to be) but a VERY KIND HUMAN being with his clients. Rick is one of those rare attorneys who actually understands and cares that his clients are TERRIFIED and really scared of possible outcomes. DO not hesitate to hire him.

Mr Mueller is a lawyer who would try every possible ways to help your case come out better. When i was first charged with DUI, I was very stressed and scared, but Mr. Mueller stayed with me until my case came out better. I felt very secured to know that he was always there fore me during the process. i am now satisfied and feel at ease. In terms of communication, he is very prompt and responsive. Rick and his team are very good at communicating/responding with you quickly via email. I was facing very stiff punishment for my (1st and what will be my only) DUI, my BAC was a lot higher than i expected and this made the punishment very severe. I informed Rick of a string of bad things/personal issues happening in my life and he was able to discuss these mitigating factors with the prosecutor and judge and get rid of an Ignition Interlock Device and Public Work Service (trash detail) requirement upon my final court date. Without his empathy and diligent effort upon that last court date, my life would be a lot worse than it is now.

If you, or a loved one, are in need of legal representation due to a DUI charge, I cannot recommend Rick Mueller and the San Diego County DUI Law Center enough. Thorough, experienced, patient, and completely professional. All questions and concerns are answered immediately. In my case, I was facing a possible felony charge, jail time, and monitored probation. In the end, I received a misdemeanor conviction and no jail time. The DUI process, both the DMV and Court sides, is lengthy, stressful, and at times disheartening. Rick was amazingly professional, easy to contact and transparent throughout the entire process - not to mention 100% effective. He let me know what to expect each step of the way, and went out of his way to ensure I understood the process. It's an extremely stressful event to occur, and Rick takes a lot of that strain away. Not to mention - he was more successful in representing me, than I could even hope for!!

Rick Mueller helped me with my DUI every step of the way. I could have not done it without him. No matter how minor the question was, he answered them promptly. My BAC was .10 and Rick assisted me in getting my DUI charge reduced to a reckless (alcohol related) charge instead. I did not have to go to court, Rick went for me every time and that was a major plus. It's humiliating enough to get arrested for DUI, last thing I wanted to do is to go to court for it. I'm so very glad Rick Mueller was there for me.
