Mr Sawers represented me in a divorce, and didn't send me a court date or time for the hearing. I found out about it only because I luckily called his office the day before the court date. He didn't take into account alimony, and I had to settle for less than I could have. After the papers were signed, Mr Sawers was supposed to file those papers with the County Clerk, seeing I had already paid for this, but he never did. Three years later, when I went to get a new Social Security card, I was told that the divorce papers were never filed, and when I called his office to inquire what happened, I was informed that he only does NYS Compensation cases now. I had to go personally and pick up the divorce papers from him because I had never received them in the mail, and I took them to the County CLerk's office myself and have them filed. He didn't even offer to pay for the filing fee, which he had already been given.
