Dan has been my lawyer for several years and helped me succeed in a parenting trial. Although he has taken my file when it was headed towards trial, he quickly got up to speed on what has already happened and was able to effectively guide me through the challenging and stressful trial process. He displayed patience, understanding and flexibility. His clam demeanor in the Court room always helped me stay focused and grounded. He was the best family lawyer of all I have dealt with during 7+ years of litigation in family matters.

Having had Dan as a lawyer to represent me in family court was the worst decision I ever made.He ignored every phone call I placed to him,as he stated he responds to emails much faster.Not the case. I often times would not hear back.When I did write him an email regarding his lack of communication, he would turn things around and blame me.He was extremely condescending.I missed court due to his laziness more than once.When I called him out on it, again he blamed me.He was aware when court was and did not let me know,even when the other parties lawyer contacted him days prior.Dan is disgustingly lazy. I wish I represented myself.I was constantly asking questions,and for paperwork that was provided to him by the other parties' lawyer that they were able to obtain, and I was brushed off and ignored.He was always on the defense, but not when it comes to helping his own client in court,just when he is called out on his laziness or lack of communication.He showed no interest in my file.

Great lawyer. His experience gets him far and he knows the law well. Dan is very honest and will help you. In court he gives you a sense of security, honesty and knowledge. Very happy to have used him and everyone that I have reffered has been too.

I had severaal lawyers and dropped this one because of this website. compared to the other lawyer I had aburto was a complete zealot. the others didn't seem to care but aburto made my case his hill to die on. wish I had stuck with him.i tried in the past to leave a bad review for the lawyer I switched to but my review kept getting deleted, so the worst lawyer on here ranks as one of the best. I wonder what that's about.

I felt I was not valued as a client. Aburto does not communicate enough and missed one date in court. I also felt I was given a scare tactic and did not provide in-depth information about my legal situation. I didn't feel he wanted to fight for me in court. He didn't even want to proceed with my case and according another opinion I had a good case and a chance to get my children back. Think twice about Aburto.

Don't even think to hire him unless you want to loose you case. I've had him for long time, and oh boy, I every possibility to see my children. If there is a zero I was going to give it to him. he will provide you with misleading information, put blames on you when things goes wrong. He does not listen or even pay to little details. my advise for you "STAY AWAY FROM HIM AS MUCH AS YOU CAN"

Dan is a phenomenal lawyer! I've been with my sister-in-law to a few of her meetings with Dan and watched the proceedings of the week and a half long trial as many days as I could. Dan was always prepared, organized, and thorough. His knowledge of the law is vast, especially the nuances of family law. He prepared my sister-in-law so thoroughly for her cross examination, spending hours practicing with her and asking really difficult practice questions. In court, he is calm and smooth and presents his case very well. He starts out a bit slow, but he uses that to build to a climax. You can tell that he spends a lot of time in court and knows what he's doing. Additonally, he goes beyond what you expect him to do. We found out that there was a mass of correspondence between him and the defendant's lawyer that we didn't know about. Turns out, those documents really came in handy during the trial, as Dan knew they would! If you have a family law case, hire Dan!

I am eternally grateful to Mr. Aburto. He fought real hard for three years in Court and finally he was able to stop my ex wife from moving with my son to another Province. Not only that, he also got me custody of my son. This was a hard fight as my ex tried everything in the book to phase me out of my son's life. I expect to have future problems with my wife and so you can bet I will be hiring Mr. Aburto again.

Mr. Aburto told me my custody case was a simple one. Because of his lack of organizational skills and his lazy disposition I have now been forced to hire another lawyer to clean up his mess. He did not read my exhusband's affidavit. He told me that I did not have to appear in court because he WOULD GET an adjournment. He did not send me my exhusband's affidavit so I could read it and respond to it. He appeared in court and applied for the adjournment and was denied. It went to trial without my knowledge and with no response affidavit from me because he told me it was not needed. I almost lost custody of my daughter. I had to hire another lawyer, on a Friday afternoon, to appear in court on Monday morning to fix what Mr. Aburto caused. It cost me $8,000 for the other lawyer. When I told Mr. Aburto that I was advised to report him to the law society he refunded me my retainer. DO NOT HIRE HIM. HE IS NOT KNOWLEDGABLE. HE IS NOT ORGANIZED. HE WILL DO YOU MORE HARM THAN GOOD.

Dan charges for a little too much but what lawyer doesnt. He is hard to get a hold of and does things last minute but in the court where it counts he is GOOD!!!! I havent had a hard time getting a hold of him any different from other lawyers. He does have good heart and wants the best for his clients. He is very honest about the outcome. If a lawyer gets back to right away unless critical he probably isnt so great and has too much free time and not enough clients. Overall Dan is a great typical lawyer. His skills in the courtroom are awesome and he gets what his clients want. In my case there is no way I should have what I have fairly but he got me what I wanted and didnt stop until I got it. This legal aid lawyer is by far more harmful than good, by a long shot! Unprepared, does not communicate till last second.
