Carol is an absolutely terrible mediator. After seeing these reviews, they ALL apply to my experience as a father. I am a dad who just finished an all-day mediation and only ONE of my 10 asks were achieved. She didn't even review my financial situation to see if I can even afford the new payments. In the end, I'm going to be short $3,200 per month! There was NO pushback to the other side. My lawyer said Carol had a "good brain for numbers". Totally false! DO NOT USE HER IF YOU'RE A FATHER! And stand your ground!

TERRIBLE!!!! Doesn’t use the law. According to her, men can write down what they make instead of providing facts (income tax) when it comes to child support. Only cares about getting paid. She needs to retire so she doesn’t destroy any more lives. She’s too old for this job.

I entered mediation with a clear head But left with a sore brain. Carol is completely biased and uses her own judgement when she is supposed to reason. I felt bullied and she repeatedly cut me off during my time. Never again. She was not professional with my custody case at all. I feel robbed.

Before we started mediation I googled Carol and even read some of the comments here but because my ex’s lawyer insisted on her I figured she can’t be that bad and if she is I can always request someone else. Reality is, Carol is bias and does side with women. She pressured me to pay higher support then I am supposed to based on her assumption of me as having lots of money in the bank even though by law support is based on income. When I confronted her she decided to stop mediating us and wrote an email for my ex intended to support her in court as an expert opinion stating in the letter that when she asked me how much money I had, I refused to talk about it and so she confirmed that I had lots of money and also confirmed a whole lot of other things. What a nightmare!

I entered into mediation under unusual circumstances, and was concern I was going to be ambushed. That was not the case. If you want a fair, level headed individual to work with you Carol is your girl. She did a great job working with us on a very reasonable agreement. She read our files in advance and was prepared for us when we started mediation. Two big thumbs up. I am the male in this case.

Attended mediation with Carol and like others have commented, I found her very biased. Along with that, she was bringing up topics that we weren't even mediating over (ie. lack of SS payment, S7 expense % split). She was also to provide a summary of the topics mediated on and any agreed upon values. A month later and we are still waiting. I will not spend another cent on mediation with Carol.

I found her to be knowledgeable and fair to both of us. Asked tough questions and listened well. Very experienced. Good value.

she looses emails you send her. she is very cocky and believes she is above everyone. she is totally biased to the female side and will ask for virtually no supporting docs from the wife but insist everything from husbands. I suggest you go elsewhere

Carol was a superb mediator. My ex and I saved thousands of dollars by working through the legal issues in a timely and well-explained fashion. I am male, but I did not sense any bias on Carol's part whatsoever. I am paying less in support than I was prior to mediation, but I am, of course, paying within the table amounts as should be expected.

Carol Bartel was not a good mediator. Her approach may be direct but bias to what she wants in terms of her time and money. She can drag the case so you pay her more. Therefore her knowledge is to her advantage and not necessary yours. It is your divorce, so don't waste your time with her.

I found this mediator to be fair, understanding,knowledgable and unbiased. I loved her no nonsense approach and her professionalism.
