During the consultation he will make you think that he can easily win your case. Once he gets your money then it's a totally different story. There was zero preparation in advance. Not even a phone call.I ended up calling him two weeks before my court date, He said he wanted to me with us 15 minutes before the start of court, We were there early and he showed up very late and unprepared. He spent most of his time talking to a dirty cop who lied about the incident even though I had a witness. When I spoke up for myself and questioned his method he got very upset, turned red in the face and start talking to me as if I was in the wrong. It was a horrible experience and I paid over 2 grand go nothing. It was a horrible experience. Also, the staff is rude. Do your homework!

Horrible lawyer. Takes money and plays a big game but cant get anything accomplished. 2 yrs later and i still can see my boys or fet my things nack from my ex wife and she is the one who cheated on me. My new lawyer has been spending all his time to figure out and deal with all the loose ends of Dan J. MILLER. IN MY EYES HES WORTHLESS

I hired Daniel J.Miller to handle my divorce, which took over 2 years to be finalized.No fault of me or my ex.At the initial consultation,he stated I was entitled to certain things,and then said the complete opposite after 9 months.When I asked questions about my divorce,he became very defensive, slamming folders down on his desk and turning red in the face. There were times when he did not seem familiar with my case at all. He did not follow through with certain issues during the whole process,and I would have to do it myself. I sent emails to his office, and there were times when I got no response. I found Daniel Miller in the Yellow Pages under "Divorce." I know now that it was a BIG MISTAKE hiring him! Overall it cost me $4400.00. Please take the time and do some research before hiring an attorney, especially one with a lock on the front door, and you have to be buzzed in.I will be reporting this nightmare to the Bar Association.

Worst attorney ever!! Shows up hours late for court, then has no knowledge of your case! His assistants are RUDE and never keep you updated or respond to calls or emails unless it's about them getting your money. A BUNCH OF CROOCKS!! Family law is not not his strong suit. He's a devil in a suit...

On 9-20-15 I hired Dan Miller I hire him for a bail trail retainer at $500.00. That was until he received the money and then I notice a sight change in his mannerisms. He went from having a positive out look on the case to stating phrases like well there so much bad that can happen I really don't know. He visit my friend in jail once and then promise he was going to go see her afterwards but he never did. Dan Miller did not seem professional or confident in helping with the preliminary case. I hired him the fee with my credit card of $1000 friend in jail since me a letter about how he was making broken promises and how he was very negative about the whole situation. So her family hired a different lawyer. Tried to get in contact with Dan Miller to get my $1000 back. There was a Voice Mail left by Dan Miller stating "sorry I can not give back the $1000 i did do work on the case, bye." I filed a dispute with my credit card company later in the year he was now suing me

I was facing a Disorderly Conduct charge in Norfolk and am active military, so it was especially crucial for me to get a favorable outcome (also I really did't do anything). Today Mr. Miller and I faced my 4th reckless driving ticket in Virginia, second in Virginia Beach, I pled not guilty to driving while suspended and reckless driving. Driving while suspended was dropped completely, reckless driving was reduced to speeding. I paid $119.00 and $60 in court cost and did not go to jail!! My first reckless driving ticket in Virginia Beach landed me in jail and I was terrified to go back so this time I tackled it with a lawyer and I'm very happy that I did. I'm very pleased with Mr Miller and his staff, they did everything they had said they would and more!!! I will certainly be recommending him to others whom I know that may need a lawyer and I will definitely be using him again if I by chance need a lawyer for whatever reason. I hired Mr. Miller to handle my divorce back in 2009. This was a huge mistake! I paid thousands of dollar over three years for the worst legal service possible. He and his staff do not make an effort to keep you informed, they do not pay attention to the details of your case, they were always behind my ex lawyer, and seemed to never be prepared for court. Four years later I had to find another lawyer to clean up his mess.

Got a speeding ticket on my bike 78 in a 55. The cop didn't write me for reckless driving, but I live in NC where 15 over means a suspended license for a month. Dan told me to take an online approved driving school and he'd take care of the rest. I was praying to get it reduced to 14 over the limit but was ecstatic to find out he got it reduced to IMPROPER EQUIPMENT! No insurance hikes, or suspended license! I would definitely recommend Dan Miller.

I had an issue regarding custody of my children and when I had the free consultation he told me he could certainly get the emergency custody I was requesting, mind you he didnt take down any of my personal information. It also seemed great that he takes payments for the retainer fee, and a 250$ hourly fee. Well I sent in 1500 and never heard back from him. I called on several occasions and he was always "out of the office" so finally I asked my for my money back, and low and behold I got transferred to speak to him, and at this time he was conveniently available. At this time he told me he didn't think I had a strong case (my kids father shot a gun in the house during a DV incident in front of my kids, seems like A good case to me and the lawyer that won for me in less than 24 hours). They charged me 400$ for NOTHING. The extra money I spent on the second lawyer was well worth it. It took ne two weeks to get my refund from Dan millers office.

Mr. Miller and staff were wonderful. My son was facing assault charges which were filed in retribution after we showed up to testify as witnesses on another case. Mr. Miller and his staff explained everything to us; as this was our first time hiring a lawyer or facing any type of charges. Our family didn't understand anything about the process, yet the office walked us through everything. His entire staff was courteous and friendly. I was recommended him by another lawyer and would definitely recommend him to others. We were so happy after walking out of the courthouse knowing it was over and the charges were dropped. I called Mr. Miller's office for a free consultation, I left my phone number and a few hours later Mr. Miller called me back. I gave him a brief story of my situtation and he told me he wanted to discuss my case in person. Then he told that someone from his staff would schedule an appointment. I went ahead and scheduled an appointment. It took me over an hour to arrive at his office. After checking in, I had to wait another hour to be seen (I already had a bad feeling). When Mr. Miller took me in, I was explaining to him more in detail about my case. I was not even half way telling him my situation and he was so rude of interrupt me and getting up from his seat to tell me he couldn't help me. What kind of lawyer is that? One that leaves you hanging. He did not even take the time to study my case and just told me "I cannot help you."

Dan is great! I got an underage possession of alcohol, which is consider a class one misdemeanor. I certainly did not want this on my record! He made sure that my case would get dismissed, and it did! He definitely knows his stuff! Now, on to the expungement phase :)

I got a ticket for reckless driving and got very upset. I had an impeccable driving record in the the past. Reckless driving is something that you don't want on your driving record.If found guilty it is considered a criminal offence. I approached Mr. Miller to represent me and to help bring down my offence to a speeding ticket. Firstly, Mr. Miller and his team put me at ease and handled my case very professionally. Mr. Miller suggested that I complete the 8 hour defensive driving course. We also had a one on one session and he went over my case. He instilled confidence in me. On the day of the court session, he was punctual and showed empathy. He was genuinely concerned about my welfare and asked me to keep a check on my speed in the future. Later during the session, he represented my case very well. He was articulate and requested the judge to pardon me based on my clean past record and the defensive driver's cert. The judge dismissed my case. I would highly recommend Mr. Miller.

I'm headed to the Board on this guy. He is AWFUL stay far away. We didn't even know if our lawyer was in court until we went up to the JUDGE!!! He didn't know our case and then Incorrectly filed an appeal on a 30 days sentence, he is held with no bond, an appeal can take up to 60 days. More than his sentence, at his convienence he is going to try to go fix it. Then asked me not to contact him again. We paid him over $1,000 and never got to review our case with him. He does NOT communicate and is totally ignorant at the bench, and unprepared (that's an understatment). I will be going to the Board over this guy. I would strongly suggest if your experience with him was as horrible as mine. To do the same. Let's get this guy, before he has a chance to devastate someone else's life.

Should have fired him like I had been told. Very evasive on fees. Stated fees would be a certain amount and then added many numerous charges. The only time there was communication between him, myself, or anyone from his office was to verify information that had already been given...numerous times in writing and should have been easily accessible in my file. I would then be charged extra fees for the office obtaining info that they already had. At a time when someone is already going through a situation n which he/she is vulnerable, it's very sad when he/she needs to depend on a total stranger fully trusts that person only to be taken advantage of.

From the moment I met Mr. Miller I was impressed and very pleased with his knowledge and professionalism. I was further delighted with the care and courteousness of his staff. In the courtroom, Dan was very tenacious and his performance was jaw dropping. He should be on television. I had Mr. Miller for a wrongful assault charge which, thanks to him, was dismissed. He was sharp and on point. Hindsight, i wouldnt have trusted anyone else with my case. The whole assault charge stemmed from a custody battle which he easily proved. i first was conveicted using another lawyer. i was refered to miller i hired him i was scaptical but the way he preformed in the court room was awsome he shut the prosacutor down. it was so bad the judge stoped the case in the middle and said dismissed. if you are innocent he is your man. guilty i dont know. i will recomend him to anybody i know.

I was very nervous when I had to go to court over a traffic accident I was recently involved in. Dan put me at ease almost immediately with his knowledge and tenacity. By the time Dan was finished questioning the other people involved in the accident I did not even have to testify (which was the major source of my nervousness). My innocence was clear to everyone in the room, thanks to Dan. Would definitely use him again and recommend him to others. He never returns calls he to busy to talk to you When we went to court he had to refresh his memory he didn't even no how long I was separated. I also gave him evidence that he didn't use or look at. Oh my God is this lawyer bad, he only cares about the money stay away!! He doesn't seem to care and always seems in a hurry as if you're taking too much of his time 5 minutes? and after I scheduled a date to go over the case with him his secretary calls in and says we'll have to reschedule because he's too busy. Stay away the worst lawyer I ever dealt with in my life!!
