Unfortunately we had a lot of experience with lawyers and Ron Foster and people that work with him are the most amazing people. Very professional, knowledgable, understandable and helpful

Foster is billing motivated vs solution motivated. unscrupulous whether there are children involved or not. difficult to get a hold of as out of town much of time, and offloads to inexperienced juniors. good knowledge but expensive and terrible value. he dumped this case when he saw impatience and billables disappearing and wasnt even professional enough to see it to completion. takes advantage of your naivety and vulnerability and is arrogant. Do not recommend.

Ron hardly worked, communication was terrible, he had no considerate bone in his body and was way too expensive.

This man should be disbarred. An unrepentant thief more interested in his sailboat than his client's file.

Ron has three decades of experience. He dedicated concentrated time including weekends to finalize my financially complicated and expensive divorce. He answered my phone calls and worked hard. He is very knowledgeable. Thank you Ron for all of your hard work.

A divorce. My wife didn't want full disclose, and that was ok by me. Lawyer was told that, yet went that way. Poor listener, or more work to add hours and get paid for something wife or I didn't ask for. I finally settled, because was less expensive than this firm billing me for work that wasn't asked for or required.

I am pleased with the support, advice and results from working with Foster LLP. RF advised, KM worked with me on the matter and support staff assisted. Their work was professional and the person chosen for representing me was the right fit for the situation. Her communications were thoughtful, creative and professional and influenced a positive outcome. Help with managing a stressful matter was greatly appreciated. Cost on this matter was reasonable.

He recommended questioning and disclosure, electronic evidence investigations and all kinds of letters. It was a complicated case, valuable family lands on one side, unknown debts, unknown tax liabilities, years of bad books and hidden infidelities linked to addictions on the other. The junior he put on my case was called to the bar in the same year but no one told me until I had many many hours invested in her. He gave me estimates at each stage, then overshot them slightly and made no progress. In eight months he had no less than five different lawyers work on the case and billed just under $70,000 in fees and about $10,000 in other things. Not one issue was settled. Hiring Ronald Foster was the most costly mistake I have ever made. I followed his advice, and paid his $10,000+/month bills right up until the day he suddenly quit. He wrote a six page letter to justify his decision but it was ineffective or dishonest communication between him and the junior who I worked with.

Ron Foster is very knowledgeable, professional, experienced, and hard-working. He has over 3 decades of experience and was referred by my previous lawyer due to the financial complexities of my case. He is expensive but he prepared a budget so I knew what to expect. With my previous lawyers, I was in litigation for over a year, with Ron and his team my divorce was finalized within 90 days. He worked weekends and did what was necessary to represent my interests and move forward.

I met Ron by chance and told him my story about where my marriage was headed. He followed up with me the next day and gave me some good realistic advice. We worked towards a quick and fair settlement ended up having my separation agreement sorted out in about 6 weeks. Apparently this is not the norm for this type of situation, but I was happy to have things settled quickly and efficiently. Although his hourly rate is on the high end of the scale, I felt that it was worth it for the practical advice and knowledge that I received. Overall, I was very pleased with the level of service and work that was done by Ron and his team on my file.

In my opinion...If you like to pay 1000/ hr for your Lawyer and the Junior for every meeting then this is your guy. I was billed thousand of dollars for research. What are you researching? At one time I was being billed for research from his assistant and the junior at the same time. Any conversation that's had with junior needs to be discussed with Senior hence more billing. Had to hire another firm to finalize the divorce cause the Junior kept telling me there was nothing left to do.

R. Foster assigned my case to a Jr Lawyer Laurie Tymchuk in June 2011. He told me I'd have my divorce by Oct, and he'd oversee Laurie's work. He didn't oversee her work. I complained Dec 2011, & he arranged a meeting with me and Laurie. At the meeting he told me that he personally only handles cases in the $30+ million, and mine wasn't at that level, so it was better if Laurie only charged me $350/hr not his $750/hr fee. April 2012 Laurie spent hours preparing a beautiful Affidavit for child support. Her time was billed to me, but the Affidavit was never used. Dec 27, 2012 I complained again & was assigned to another more Jr lawyer. Ron went on leave Jan 5 until end of April 2013. The new Jr assigned to my case went on leave until end of August. I found out in March after calling Laurie. I was assigned to another lawyer with 15 yrs experience. It's now Jan 2015, I'm no further ahead in my divorce than I was when I came to Foster LLP June 2011 & have spent at least $60+K. Stay Away!

Ron and his team helped me to deal with a complex case over a number of years. Ron is very professional and thoughtful. He helped guide me through many difficult decisions. Throughout the process, Ron and his team supported me with knowledge of the law and procedures, comprehensive analysis and realistic information to make the best decisions, advice on working through negotiations, and administrative support with timely and considerate responses. This firm has the experience, confidence and knowhow to deal with challenging situations.

I met Ron in Dec 2014 and was divorced by March 2014. I started with collaborative in another city and was very disappointed with the results with this system. When I met with Ron and his team (yes, I did have to pay some of his Junior associates as well) he addressed my concerns, spoke very clearly with regards to my expectations and I got the results I needed to move on in a timely manner. I found him and his team reliable and knowledgeable and when I contacted them they returned my calls and addressed my issues/concerns/anxiety's the same day - which to me after dealing with a lot of deceit/infidelity and was worth a considerable amount of money to have peace of mind. I would caution people to be their own advocate and not expect miracles. Have as much "proof" and paper trial as possible. At this point it is strictly financial.I would recommend Foster in a heartbeat and already have. Elaine-wife of twenty years and glad to be done the process and happy with the results!

In the history of the world, I do not think you could find a more incompetent lawyer. Do not use Ron Foster! He assigns your work to a junior lawyer who is clueless!! He is only interested in billing his hours on top of what he pays an incompetent junior lawyer to do!! Complete waste of time and money!!

Corrupt lawyer. Only interested in maximizing billing hours and charges unbelievable fees for no product. We had to sell our home when he put a line on it, after charging us $50+,000 for "damage control" caused by parental alienation. Markets himself as somewhat of an expert in this area yet is clueless and doesn't care at all about the kids' lives he has wrecked.

Ron Foster and his team were very knowledgeable and worked professionally on my file. I was thankful that Pat Daunais (recently retired from the family law division of her own firm), was able to refer them to me. They coordinated an expeditious and satisfactory resolution to the proceedings, which avoided building extra costs and fees. Heather Fraese, the lawyer working directly with Ron Foster, was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and always available.

STAY AWAY FROM THE FOSTER TEAM!!!! He will clean out your bank accounts, make you have to sell your homes, cars and then file for bankruptcy. AND still after all that, in the end the mother will always win. Wasn't worth it.

Over charges for everything and assigns a junior lawyer to do all his work. Then the junior lawyer also charges you for there time, so you end up paying two people to do a job that ends up not properly done. Foster is in it only for the money and will do whatever he needs to to increase your bill. He cannot be trusted and has only his interests at heart.

Mr. Foster knows what he is doing. Unfortunately he never does it. He delegates your file to junior lawyers who are unknowledgable and unprofessional. They leave things to the last minute and say, "It's good enough." One of his associates, Phil Shink, actually advised me to sign my affidavit without reading it first because we were short on time. Unbelievable. Very expensive: told me it would cost $70,000 for a custody 2-day hearing. Every other lawyer I told that to say that it was a ridiculous amount of money. When he overcharges you for things that were never done he then threatens you with taking your bill to collections to destroy your credit score. Not honourable, at all.

If you want to be forced to spend all of your earnings, all of you savings, re - mortgage your home to the max, cash in your RRSPs, borrow from family and friends for Mr. Foster's legal fees and then be told that you don't have a case after spending over $190,000.00 then Ron Foster is the man for you. He misled me and assigned multiple lawyers to my file which ended accomplishing very little. Why he had 2 or 3 working on the same tasks is a mystery to me. What I do know is that everyone was charging.

Very expensive for constantly repeating facts to list of new assistants. Very seldom did he work on the file, usually a junior person.
