He's a bully . Seems to not take no for an answer. Kicked me and my wife out of his office and to never come back; must
have had a bad day at the office.I wouldn"t be surprised if he sends me a bill for no work performed. On my short list of real asholes I have met in my life.

This was my first time using a lawyer and what a lawyer he is! When I first met Paul I was so far down I wasn't sure that I would ever get up. My life was falling apart and I had no hope for the future. I was treated with respect and dignity. When I was too emotional and couldn't follow he explained things without talking down to me. He helped me understand all of my options without making me feel inadequate. Paul and his team are wonderful, knowledgeable and kind. I can't say enough good things about my experience with them. Would I recommend them... In a heartbeat.

I met Paul when buying my first property. He impressed me with his sharp legal mind, he treated me with respect and he had a reputation in the real estate community for his capability and commitment to his clients. And his fees were competitive.
I have now done many more real estate deals with Paul. And my initial impressions have been re-enforced. Not only does he have a fine legal mind, commitment to clients, thoroughness and competitive pricing, but also he is fun and easy to deal with. Paul has the ability to cut to the core and isolate the key issue. I have introduced him to business associates struggling with complex real estate issues and he has resolved them.
Paul is now my "go-to" lawyer for legal advice including advice on setting up and operating the various companies I have established, setting up my will and trusts for my family and resolving various contractual issues.
I have no hesitation recommending him to family, friends and business associates.

I used Paul's services for several family matters including a will for my father and the purchase of a home a couple months ago. Paul francis preparedmy father's will. He was told there would likely be some unhappy with my father's wishes. He was asked to make the will so my father's wishes would befollowed. As soon as my father died, he instructed to executor to compromise with the unhappy party and break the will, utterly betraying my father and his wishes.Fortuneately the executor hired a competentlawyer and my father's estate was disbused as he intended. I would only ever go to Paul Francis ifI wanted a bucket of hot air, because imho that is all he has to offer.

My experience with Paul Francis was very negative. He overcharged me by close to $500 for a simple real estate transaction. When I challenged the bill, he hung up the phone on me and sent the invoice to a collections agency. I was forced to pay the bill in order to protect my credit rating. Don't take the chance that he will rip you off like he did me. There are plenty of honest lawyers in Ottawa that will not take advantage of or bully you like Mr. Francis did to me. If you do deal with him, I would highly recommend that you examine the accounting of the bill very closely. I would recommend choosing another lawyer especially if you are buying a house because it's really not worth the aggravation when any lawyer can handle this simple transaction.

We started using Paul Francis's services 30 years ago when our real estate agent recommended him noting, in particular, his diligence in advocating for his clients and the thoroughness of his work. We completely concur.
He has represented our interests not only in our real estate transactions (purchase, sale, mortgages), but also in preparing wills, in setting up trusts and business issues. Paul has always been there to help and has never hesitated to take on issues that others would not. In one example he spent many hours helping us terminate a Time Share Agreement (and recover our down payment) with a company that misrepresented its offer and threatened to sue us if we did not go through with the contract. We were successful in termination and recovering our down payment – one of very few successful terminations with this company. We have recommended Paul to others who also have been very happy with his services and will continue to do so.
