This attorney is extremely unprofessional. After 14 months and $2250 paid in advance, I am left with a sub par document that has been reviewed by a secondary attorney. The verbiage has typos, is loosely written and will not hold up with any of the 3 title and escrow companies we've tried to work with. I am back to square one with my case and will now spend thousands more on completion on another attorney. Additionally, this attorney is not communicative, does not answer her phone or return calls, and when I asked for updates after months of radio-silence, I got one to two sentence answers. I attempted to set up a face to face meeting and was told she preferred email. I wrote what my concerns were (stated above) and she flew off the handle and quit. This is not professional, ethical and her response was unfounded and aggressive. This happened between April of 2017 and concluded in May of 2018. I have the emails upon request. Stay away from this attorney. Brewster/Fitzpatrick talks a big story, but doesn't deliver. Phone calls not returned. Horrible if any follow-up at all. As a client, I had to initiate mtgs and action. Letters written had typos and wrong information.Thank goodness I insisted upon proofing them before they were sent. Tells you one thing in a mtg, then something else the next time. If you mention any of the above, Sydney turns passive/aggressive. What a waste of time, effort and money. Save yourself the headache and use someone else. If there'd been a zero rating, that would have been my choice. Filing official complaint with the Oregon Bar.

Sydney is extrememly professional and highly competent. Both the judges and opposing counsel in this town know and respect her. She works in an area of the law that is extremely difficult, and clients can often get emotionally upset and irrational and difficult to counsel. I have know Sydney for years and would not hesitate to refer friends or family to her should they need a good family law attorney in northern Oregon.

I read the review by the woman who claimed her mother was treated badly. I worked for Sydney in the past and know this case - these people were not treated badly in any way

Abridgement of AVVO review: Mom asked for docs from Brewster’s office 1/16, they never arrived, Mom and I placed calls asking about them. Today, 2/19, docs still not arrived, Mom upset about call to Sydney who insists docs were mailed. Mom told her they hadn’t arrived and Sydney told her, “That’s not my problem”. This is completely unacceptable. I called and was treated in the same sarcastic, disrespectful way. I’ll pick them up myself on 3/2, I live in Salem. We’ll see if they’re ready. When my mom is treated this way it makes me mad enough to leave a review. Contacts with agency for which Brewster served as board member and legal counsel say she was “out-to-lunch and at times undependable”, had to be prodded to complete work when needed and was often “unreliable”. She was rude because she forgot to mail the docs and is piqued at being reminded. I would not recommend Brewster to anyone. With regard to her client services skills alone she seems to be more of a lawyer than an attorney.

Thoroughly professional in a hard field of law. Clients are angry and blame the lawyer for problems she didn't create, and folks won't listen to reason much of the time. Simply hiring a good lawyer does not ensure that you get your way in the end. Sydney is a very good lawyer, but she heeds to be a realist, and can't change the facts of the case. The facts are 90% of what you need to win in court. While she is a great advocate for her clients, she can't un-ring a lot of bells. Sydney is honest as the day is long, competent, and recognized as such by her peers and the judges.

Horrible expirience. Leaves you hanging and makes too many mistakes that I have to pay for and get nothing in return! A simple case was turned into a complete expensive mess!!!!

Worst legal experience I have ever had. Emails were never returned in a timely matter and when they were documents were produced with other peoples names and information. Attempted to resolve the issue with Sydney and was put down as well as charged more for her mistakes. Over priced and still never got correct documents. Filled with what I was told was accurate and ready to file and still spent an hour at the courthouse filling out paperwork. Would not recommend AT ALL!!!

Communication was awful, I never knew what was going on in my case. Emails were not returned, questions not answered. Paperwork had many errors in it. Some things were completed other things left hanging. Would not recommend.
