Avaline's Law firm has closed. It seems Avakine's disgraceful ways have caught up to her. Her reputation is that of a crooked money hungry lawyer who had zero integrity.

After speaking with reception twice about my case Avaline agreed to meet with me for a consult knowing I was in need of a lawyer. She met with me for a "consult" only to tell me she could not take on my case as her case load was too big at this time. Did she not know that before we met? Then charged me for the hour anyway... Easiest $250 she ever made...

Avaline and her staff are good at empty promises. Hard to get a hold of,rarely returns phone calls or emails. She is unorganized and unprepared in court. There are way better lawyers out there, stay away from this one!

Ok,this firm has competed my case (about a year ago) in a fashionable time with cheaper cost then lawyers in Winnipeg. I stumbled across this website and when i read the articles, most of them come from the same person. I dont know what happen in this case. I do know that responsible mature people deal with the issue in person and not hide behind a computer and re-post the same idiotic story. The worst thing this days in our online ratings is the people who are honest and trustworthy have a good experience and move on in life and can not be bothered with ratings. Im 100% sure the person that did not have a good experience did not even give the full information to the lawyer so she can properly work with it. To this re-posting person: Grow up and speak the truth about your own side. Your defiantly not helping your own case if it takes that long to resolve your issue. And that many years, you must have a real messed up personal life. No offence here, but re-post is for losers.

Worst family law lawyer in Manitoba, hands down. She is not prepared in or out of the courtroom. I had the most simple divorce case drag out for nearly 5 years due to her incompetence. Her firm sends outrageous bills for work not even completed. The minute you tell her that you're not paying for work not done, she takes you to small claims court. Check her out on the QB court website, she has sued many former clients. Also check her discipline record out on the Manitoba Law Society website. She has been fined and suspended more than once! Stay far, far away from this lawyer!

Terrible people they only think of money they will take you for everything you got. Will do absolutely nothing you ask them to do or want them to do. Lies like crazy to you. Puts guilt trips on you. Drag things out just to get more and more money. Don't go here!!!

Worst family law lawyer ever. She will promise you the world, then fail miserably in front of a judge due to her incompetence and unfamiliarity of your case. However, Bruno will bill you outrageous sums of money for work not done (hence my "2" rating in communication). After about 1.5 years into my simple divorce case, I finally have a decent lawyer, who has now put in 2 years trying to undo the absolute mess Avaline and her firm has put me in. She does not know the law and had me break court orders, simply telling me that she would "fix it" on a following court date.... I am still fighting contempt of court charges because of her, and her bills keep coming in, even though I was told by my new lawyer "DO NOT PAY HER!!" Avaline and firm are now suing me in small claims court. I have filed numerous complaints about her firm to the Law Society. If you do a Google search, you will see she has been reprimanded several times. Avoid this firm and Avaline Widmer at all costs!

I don't know how people can say's is knowledgeable. She gave the worst legal advice and in some instances, was actually wrong about the law. She is under review by the Law Society of Manitoba on SEVERAL charges. Worst. lawyer. ever.

Has only one interest: MONEY! Doesn't care what she has to do to get it. She is smart, very smart in ways of how to scam innocent ignorant people. When in court instead of doing her job and fighting for me, she remained silent & just slipped me a note saying "Don't let the judge bully you" leaving me to try and defend myself in a situation I had never been in. Several years later I'm still trying to reverse the unspeakable damage she caused to my children & I. She would always tell me what I wanted to hear, make it sound that we were going to court for what I had requested, but something would always come up right before that she would have to cancel, and each new hearing would need a new affidavit, which equivilates to more $$$ and those hearings were never heard. I am so deeply hurt that someone would allow themself to be so overtaken by greed to go to the lengths she did to get money. Her staff on the other hand was so kind & pleasant- too bad they weren't lawyers!!

Super helpful staff. I found Avaline to be honest and fair. Her advice was accurate, and she cared. I couldn't believe the BS my ex pulled, or the stunts the other lawyer tried to pull. She was tenacious, got what I wanted, and even the judge complimented her.

I had a consultation and I was surprised that this lawyer was truthful and friendly. Reception is very friendly and accommodating. She will give you as much fact as she can and she won't sugar coat possible outcomes. As she has no control what the Justice system will decide. She does not appear to be associated with "the old boys club" that have been around for a long time. She's a refreshing change in the a field of sharks, but she does not appear to be a pushover either. She is a fighter in court if you want her to be. I trust this lawyer.

TERRIBLE! Only returns calls when it's convenient for her. When things get complicated she's not there but you still receive a huge bill for absolutely nothing! Does a lot of needless work to make it look like she's doing something though it's really just to make money on something she wouldn't have had to do. Drags things out way longer than what they need to be. Doesn't get anything done in a timely fashion, only an expensive one. I do realize lawyers aren't cheap, but she is insane and will take any money you have. Wouldn't recommend.

Great service, she has done work for me the last 5 years. service for the buck is more then fair. (to many people expect service for free this days) would recomend to anybody who is honest truthful.

I can't believe she's a Progressive Conservative Party Nominee for Morden. I had hired her to do a simple house purchase and in the contract there was $1000 held back for work to be done on the home by the previous owners. If the work was not done then the funds were to go to the purchaser(me). When the sellers refused to respect the house agreement contract and the time past, instead she just gave the money held to the sellers lawyer because it was not worth the effort to continue. She breached the contract and ordered that I pay more money for her to try to get it back. On top of that I had paid the full year of property tax although I only purchased late in sept. The lawyers' job was to pay the diff. back once calculated. Well, after nothing had come I had asked about it and after a 2hr meeting with her trying to confuse the matter with random numbers I just said I'm going to sue, and the money was sent straight away. WOW...what a criminal. -Justin

Great Job on my file. Thank you to all the wonderfull staff and lawyers for getting me back on track in my life. My previous lawyer cost me lot's of money and I got nothing in return. Since i changed to Avaline, things are getting done. I will recomend this firm to anyone that needs help. Great work -- aditude -- and very frindly. Sahra

She has done very good. In the meetings she explains everthing into details and tryes to keep it real. Is working very hard to keep your cost's down and she fights for you. Very to the point, returns calls into the nite. Great no complaints.

very helpfull with my corporate interest's. Has a very good knowlege about the law. As she is almost the only Family Lawyer,in that area, she is very busy. As there is a waiting list to see her, most people are very happy with her work. My work was completed in a timly fashion. Peter

slow slow slow, screwed up our adoption so bad it is going to cost 3x the normal for another law firm to sort out, never got paperwork to court on time took so long that Manitoba changed the law making it impossible to complete the adoption there,the way she went about transpfering documents was plain ridiculous and may border on unlawful according to the new lawyer

Slow as molasses! Doesn't return calls, says paperwork is ready to go to court when the aren't. When you call her to see where everything is at after the "supposed" court date is she notices and error ..however it was suppose to have gone to court already! Run people ....run!
