Richard made sure that I lost as much as possible in the shortest time possible. He will destroy and steal everything he can from you. Please don't give any money to ruthless and destructive people like Richard Buck. Especially if you are a single woman with kids, Richard enjoys making sure he leaves you with nothing.

Mr Buck over charges and drags out the litigation so he racks up billable hours of information that is irrelevant to solving the issues of the case. He doesn’t have the best interest of his client at heart. He seems to be motivated by one thing ...the amount of money he can take from you. I’m not a troll or someone who is bitter. I’m going back to 2007 when this happened. I really hope I can help someone not be ripped off by this man with no morals.

This lawyer is so bad that even if he has a winning case the only way he can possibly win is to screw his own client. They are all pathetic. They will file paperwork late, send countless emails emails and documents about nothing to rack up your bill. Both Mr. Buck and his law clerk believe they are judges, it's horrifying.

Richard Buck and his team were exceptional in my recent divorce. There were so many emotions wrapped up in the difficult decision to divorce and I really had no idea what to expect. We could not have asked for a better team to represent us in a case involving a tenacious, uncooperative and unreasonable respondent. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable of family law, particularly the child custody aspects, Richard along with his senior law clerk Monica and his law clerk Debbie were nothing but professional responsible, accessible, persistent, hard-working and supportive. Mr. Richard Buck knows the law very well. Which is why he is excellent at dragging out, and prolonging cases that don't need to be. He is looking for billable hours and has no interest in actually doing what's best for his clients. He lacks a moral code and is the epitome of why the general population have a bad taste for lawyers. If you're looking to spend countless dollars in a useless attempt to bully and threaten, he is the man for you. His tactless attempts don't work if you're up against a well versed lawyer. Just know what you're walking into if you're thinking of using him (or if you're up against him)...you will spend thousands of unnecessary dollars, and will end up with a less desirable outcome then you started off with. Richard was an amazing lawyer. Through my 5 year battle with a nightmare of an ex husband, he made sure justice was served. I can't thank him enough. He made even the most stressful situations seem easy. I couldn't have gotten through this with out him. I highly recommend him to anyone!!! Not only is he great, but all his staff are beyond amazing!!

Richard understands the law and more importantly understands the tactics the other party's lawyer will use to attempt to provoke you into an emotional state of despair. Richard will separate you from the emotions so that you can make well informed logical decisions. Proceedings vary in length generally due to the parties emotions and willingness to cooperate to resolve the issues being contested. Yes legal matters can drag as the Court will permit parties to exhaust all available means to them. Compromise and reasonableness will generally win the day. So be realistic in your demands and apply the same standards to yourself and hopefully your success will be forthcoming. Richard has the ability to work with you to achieve meaningful results. If you are reaching for the moon and want it quickly likely there is no lawyer any where who can make that ream come true. You must be realistic and forthright and with Richard's talents you will be successful. I highly recommend Richard to anyone!

Had a nasty divorce scenario. Buck explained the process re: family law reform. Took awhile as other party did not cooperate. Came through though in the crunch at the settlement hearing. Felt he was worth it. If you want action this is the man. Office staff are kind and easy to communicate with.

I am very pleased with my decision to hire Mr. Buck. He didn't waste time, nor did he allow my emotions to do so either. He's quick and to the point and his years of experience definitely paid off. Mr. Buck was easy to talk with, puts you at ease. He is very efficient and I feel that his rates are fair as he was able to accomplish in 3 months what my previous lawyers couldn't in 6 years! He kept his promise to me and got me what I wanted. Thank you again Mr Buck. Due to the nature of my ex, I'm sure we'll cross paths again in the future.

As 'applicant' a 'big gun'-time was of the essence, the respondent was 100% uncooperative. Understanding of legal rights was respected as explained necessary by Mr. Buck. It took longer than anticipated as there was stonewalling going on by respondent. Costs spiral but as said" why are divorces so expensive? B/c they are worth it", as was the case here. Where Mr. B shone was in the final moments before trial was ordered, negotiating with the res's lawyer who seemed to understand the scope of problems created by his client. Whilst in the court house meeting room a deal was struck that certainly took experience, expertise & savvy. In the end it worked out favourably as it was finally over without going to court. It was all about the 'buck'($) by the 'Buck'. Could have been a lot worse and now it's over! Thank you Mr. Buck!

this lawyer came hihly recommend however in the end I would not recommend him. My acromonial divorce dragged on for 5 years. Richard kept advising me to NOT accept the deal offered but in the end the advice changed when I had a break down and became unemployed. The deal was suddenly considered to be very good. I challenged his bill of $50,000 and the presiding judge said 3 people were challenging his bill and he would like to meet him. I never knew why after 5 years the offer was suddenly good. ??? I was left with the sense that he is truly interested in his own financial gain-why else change your advice !!!

I have just finished my divorce and Richard has been my lawyer from the beginning. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to have had him in my corner. In addition to being very effective in representing me, he has also taught me many valuable lessons over the past 2 years. Richard has been upfront and honest about the cost and my chances of success on issues. He has counselled me against making decisions based on my emotions - even when I insisted. He has taught me to put my feelings aside and to make objective and informed decisions. Richard has fought the fights that needed to be fought, but has not wasted my money fighting for things I had little chance of success in obtaining. Was referred by a a friend who had great success with Richard to handle my extremely complicated divorce. I was absolutely blown away how easy Richard made my separation happen with such little stress on my end. I was able to achieve a very great agreement on my end which didn't leave me in hardship. I cannot express enough my content, if you need a trusted lawyer Richard is a must to have represent you. I guarantee you will be absolutely blown away with what he has to offer you.

I suspect the negative reviews are all from the same vindictive individual who I know had a bad experience being represented by this lawyer. It is this individual who is known to the courts and disliked by judges - not the lawyer. Making preposterous claims against a former spouse and making outrageous demands will drag your case on for years. I suppose this lawyer could be criticized for representing such a foolish individual. Posting numerous fake negative reviews is in line with the poor character of the person I suspect.

I just finished a very nasty,long drawn out divorce case.After searching for a a very qualified lawyer which I needed for my case, I hired Richard Buck.The negative comments on the web site were definitely unsubstantiated. I was very happy working with him& especially the positive outcome he achieved for me. I am set for life now financially because of Richard.

Just finished my settlement and want to relate my experience with Richard Buck... I found him to be very knowledgeable, diligent, and very patient of the antics the other side was throwing at us... His fees appear to be reasonable, although this is the first (and last) time I have been through this process, so its hard to be certain. Having said that, I have spoken to friends who have paid much more... Knowing that court would create even more acrimony as well as cost, he skillfully / strategically avoided court...He was always sensitive to my mood and appetite for conflict during the process, which was very comforting during what has been one of the most difficult processes I have ever experienced... His team was also extremely knowledgeable, supportive and responsive to the events as they unfolded... They were very effective in keeping me clam and informed of the process as it unfolded... I unreservedly recommend Richard Buck and would use him again if the situation was repeated...

If you have him already-fire him-like I did and get a new lawyer.He likes to say he only had 3 divorce judgements not go in his client's favour in the last year. Very true because after he gets a large paycheck from you-he just settles in his office ( not in court ) and not in your favour. Absolute shyster.

I had to get rid of Buck a couple of years ago, even though he was recommended to me by a friend who was a lawyer. It was a nightmare switching to another lawyer in the middle of my family case. Like others have said, Buck is disliked by local judges and has been sued by other lawyers. Buck promised me everything and told me that my ex. was an idiot with a bad lawyer. Buck will tell you whatever he thinks you want to hear so he can "fight" for you. All he wants to do is drag your case on make you think he is fighting for you. I got nothing from Buck except a big legal bill. You can't move your file to a new lawyer until you pay his bills. He takes on wealthy clients and knows how much money he can take from you.

Buck dragged on our case for 4 1/2 years, even getting it dismissed out of court because he didn't file paperwork correctly. When we finally demanded to go to mediation, to push things along and avoid most costly trial, he lost interest even sitting in mediation not saying anything while all the things promised by him were dismissed. We heard he was unethical from several past clients but could not afford to switch lawyers midway. When we communicated to him we were unhappy, he fired us even though we had more mediation to follow. So now we have had to take out a loan to pay him $50,000 before he will release our files to another lawyer. He does not care about the people he represents, only the billable hours. I beg of you to find any other lawyer for your family law disputes. We are now is serious debt and we lost everything including more access to the children. We feel completely abused by not only the system, but our own lawyer.

My experience with Mr. Buck was horrendous. He dragged on my case simply for extra billing and promised me my day in court. When the day finally came, he settled immediately which left me wondering what he actually did for my $60K+ bill. My case should have been resolved quicker and at a fraction of the price. I was left dazed, confused, and with less assets. All the Richard Buck cares about are the bucks he can make off of you and not what is best for you. Like the first entry states, do yourself a favour and go with anyone other then Buck.

The previous comment made about Mr. Buck only taking on financially rewarding cases only is in my opinion not truthful! I am not a well heeled individual, and Mr. Buck took on my case without batting an eye. I too must agree that his law clerks are the best around and need a raise. I am extremely pleased with my experience at this law firm. The legal process does in deed take alot of time~and I too have heard that Mr. Buck avoids trial BTW~to avoid the cost incurred by his clients. Hope to never need to use his services again, but I needed to I would not hesitate.
