He's a very unethical lawyer. While my father was passing and I stepped in as his executor I found a few discrepancies in his file. Turns out Allen has been and was still trying to lie and manipulate my doing father to get as much money out of him as possible! He has very little conscience. I highly recommend finding a more ethical lawyer in Winnipeg. There's lots.

When I met with him to represent me as my lawyer for my divorce, he was all gung-ho. Next thing I knew was doing all the legwork for him running around getting all the information that he needed build my case. I'd only been separated for 5 months, when he had a court date for me. It was only in a couple of months. When we finally got the court, the judge threw it out and said that I have to be separated for at least a year, and he should have known. Alain Hogue still billed me for his mistake. Then my ex-wife and I had about$20,000 in equity in our house. When I talk to her we decided to split it right down the middle. It was between her and I. When Alain Hogue found out about it, he said we had to go through him. It had already been done. He just wanted to get his cut of the $10,000 I got from my ex-wife.for everything else, I ended up paying this guy through the nose for absolutely nothing. and when I complain to him he told me he would take me to court unless I pay him.

alain hogue does not support his clients when he should be.He charges for things he hasn't even done!He makes you feel like you're totally on your own with no support from him when he should be working for you not the other side?!He makes you feel totally hopeless.

Alain Hogue isn't nearly as bad as some people are saying?!He is a no nonsense type of guy.(gets right down to business). He doesn't favor one gender over the other(like some lawyers do!)His office staff isn't very good--but he is fair and reasonable.He does realize what's best for the child!He doesn't do a lot of extra and unnecessary things $$$!No complaints here!

Notice the positive review how it quotes “my child” typical behavior of a client of this lawyer, narassisic and abusive! Children have rights!

It should be illegal to have the fate of children’s lives decided by this lawyer. If no one speaks of the change that is needed in family court by these lawyers then change will never happen. I am not afraid to speak out about this! Hire someone else he is not interested in you he is interested in your MONEY!!

Very unprofessional staff. He would not listen to my story or my needs in my seperation. He was just interested in fighting, against my desire. He submitted me an invoice without disclosure of what he was charging me for. When I offered to pay in installments, he threatened to take me to court! He never was on my side.

This is my Ex's lawyer. My divorce case has been ongoing for almost 5 years. Hogue isn't completing the paperwork on his end. Had a case conference 3 months ago to force Hogue to finish this. I saw him walk towards the case conference room then he left the building. He didn't show up for the case conference and when we called him he was in his office. Judge was pissed and gave him 5 days to close the case. Hogue sent papers to the courts that were signed 5 months earlier. Last month judge was supposed to sign off on divorce...no surprise he's missing paperwork. Incompetent staff and lawyer. Obviously doesn't know what he's doing and takes on every case that he can. Search in the registry by his name. Everything from estates to divorces. Stay away from this guy unless you want to spend thousands of dollars.

When looking for a lawyer find someone who specializes in that aspect of the law. A lawyer who takes on every and any case is only interested in one thing and that's your money. I have only had experience with this lawyer through family law and if you truly love your children find someone else. Find someone who will get you the best outcome for your money but won't fill you full of lies for their own personal greed. I can tell you from experience there are no winners or losers in family law you will have to work it out with the other parent for your child's sake.

Alain also falls into the category of slum lord. He gives respected residential and commercial property owners such as myself a bad rap. Based on the other comments regarding his law practice he should stick to improving his practice and stop jerking tenants around for their hard earned money. His attitiude of entitlement and arrogance will eventually come back to haunt him one day.

A simple all cash estate has taken 8+ months to resolve due to incompetent office staff. Calls not returned, process errors. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Poor value for your money. He is not interested in his clients and will draw a case out for the ongoing premiums. Too many irons in the fire.

It's all about "what's in it for himself". While he is knowledgeable, and tenacious he will not work to find an agreement until you're tapped out. As a divorce lawyer, he does not seek to find an agreement that leaves both sides in reasonable shape which after all is the best thing that can be done for the sake of the kids. His "winner take all" approach is exactly why the divorce system needs an overhaul.

Ifound him very good .Explains everything and is all about keeping it real for you and not costing you money or wasting court time or judges time very to the point returns calls into the nite great no complaints.
