In the early '90's, after buying a condo in a complex on the beach, I learned that Mr. Blue had been representing his firm for a number of years as our condo Association's attorney. In that capacity he had literaly bled our association dry keeping alive actions he recommended that kept a very large out of state contractor from receiving his contractual monies, while he collected ongoing retainers and payments for his services. A number of new owners on our Board questioned the economic validy of Mr. Blue's costly recommendations. The condo Board then acted & called the contractor, in an attempt to resolve the billing issue. He flew in for discussions. Hours later he left with a high, multi-thousand dollar check, 60% less than his bill, initated immediate actions & followed through with minor work. He flew in for a joint inspection released his lien, & thanked the Board for their positive actions that ended years of costly legal espenses paid by both his company and our condo owners.
