If you are searching for a family law attorney in the San Diego area, I highly recommend Attorney Bruce Cozart! He worked diligently on my case and was always in constant communication with me. I had a bad experience with the mediation portion of family law and Mr. Cozart was able to clearly articulate to the court the issues I had, and get those issues resolved. I regret not retaining Mr. Cozart sooner in my divorce.

Atty. Bruce Cozart helped me get through a difficult time in my life. If it wasn’t for him and his AMAZING staff, I would have had a nervous breakdown. My divorce was very complicated. It involved child custody & visitation, child support, spousal support, and a request for a move-away. Bruce let me know what was going to happen each and every step of the way, whether it was good or bad. His staff was very knowledgeable as well. They made sure I was well prepared for each court date. Bruce always made time to see or speak with me. I honestly felt like I was his only client. I started my difficult and complex divorce with another lawyer. It was a mess, dragged on forever, was expensive, and was not resolving in my favor. I clearly needed to change lawyers. Mr. Cozart was recommended to me by a friend of a friend who had used him for his divorce. I am absolutely satisfied with the services performed by Mr. Cozart. He is smart, knows what he is doing, and he is diligent, honest, and conscientious. He was clearly heads and shoulders above the other two lawyers who were involved in this case. He recommended mediation, which I agreed to. I believe that this was a good move and certainly better than a court case. Mr. Cozart carefully does his preparation. I hired Mr. Cozart as a consultant while going through mediation with my husband. I found his office staff friendly and efficient, and Mr. Cozart, through a bit gruff at times, was very knowledgeable and fast to understand issues, explain them, and create any needed documents. He kept looking out for my safety during various stages of the mediation and the creation of a Marital Settlement Agreement with the mediator. His office would quickly find me appointments even though it was obvious they were very busy.

Mr. Cozart represented me back in 1992-93 during a complex divorce involving custody issues and an ex-wife that was involved in extremely reckless behavior (drugs and alcoholism). He put a lot of effort into my case and was passionate about his work. Now, 20 years later, my children are grown adults and successful in their own lives/careers. I can't imagine how their lives would have turned out had I not had competent counsel that ensured that I was their custodial parent. Mr. Cozart gave extremely competent advise, was respectful in all contacts with my ex-wife's counsel and was extremely successful in the courtroom. His billing practices were fair and it was money well spent.

We used Bruce Cozart to represent our 27 year old son in his divorce from his wife of 41 months in San Diego. There were no kids, no debt and no real estate involved and they had several thousands of dollars in their bank accounts. In a situation like this it would have only made sense for the two (2) parties to amicably divide the comunity assets and move on with their separate lives. Unfortunately our son's ex-wife was very bitter about the divorce and drug the situation out causing both parties to spend large amounts of monies on legal fees. We found Bruce and his staff to be consummate professionals at all times. They were very responsive to our inquiries despite the fact that our son had moved back to Atlanta, GA to live with us and attend college. Most importantly they were very well prepared for the Mandatory Settlement Conference which helped greatly to reach a settlement at that time with his ex-wife and her counsel.

I found out on a Saturday that my ex had hired an attorey in lieu of a paralegal and we had a court date the following Tuesday. I spent all morning Tuesday in his office while he reveiwed all my paperwork and then respresenting me in court. He was great.

he has been known to unnecessarily multiply the cost of a divorce in order to increase his own income. allegedly sued by a client for charging a fee to collect child support that was ordered to be paid to his office.

I called Bruce on the advice of a fellow attorney. The receptionist took my number as said I'd get a call back from his assistant that afternoon. . Didn't happen. . I called back and left a message on voice mail . still no call back. I hired a different attorney. .
