Terry Spencer is claiming my late husband hired him back in early 2009, he put a lien on my home for $10k. My husband was an ex-marine,fell ill in November 2008, ended his life in front on me & Sandy PD end of May 2009. Terry states "who is gonna pay me my money". He has yet to supply me with a signed retainer agreement with my late husband signature proving he hired him. When do the spouses, in a divorce case, pay the other spouses attorneys fees? Especially after they commit suicide? Terry feels it is 100% acceptable to take advantage of a widow and her 2 children for a debt that ins't even theirs. Hi actions prove to be unethical & lacks fundamental values as a human. He sleeps fine at night, taking advantage of any situation he can. I am now forced to file in court against this, which is debilitating emotionally & physically to dredge up my husbands death. If you can at all costs, do not use this man. I wonder, if that was his daughter would he still be going after her?

This attorney will not work on your case and bill you falsely. He billed us almost $2,500 to send letters and make calls (that I have proof he never actually did) to gather documents that first off,I sent to him already and second he never requested anything else from us. He is ONLY out to take your money. This guy should be banned from practicing law. His billing is inaccurate and he basically just takes hard working people's money and does nothing to help them. I am so sorry I let this attorney scam me like he did. Now I am going to have to fight to get my money back from him instead of getting the help I went to him for.

My son and I hired this attorney to help him with a custody battle. He never followed through on what he was paid to do and lost us jurisdiction. He never called and followed up on his action. Came to my son's mediation and sat and did his church assignment while my son got the shaft. Do not use him even if you are desparate!

After going through the rest....I found the best! I only wish I had been introduced to Terry years before falling for all the "father advocate" lawyers. Terry knows the laws inside and out, but, more importantly he loves what he does and it shows based on how hard he works for me. His competent staff are always helpful. Taking all of that into account, Mr. Spencer, is by far someone I recommend to everyone I know in need of representation. Thank you Terry!!

When Terry puts his mind to it he is the best advocate with the law you can have. He is extremely knowledgeable and well versed in laws and procedures. He is bold and has experience to back him up

Terry has been wonderful from start to finish. My case is complex and challenging and requires an attorney to keep vast amounts of information at hand. Terry is very, very good at this. I have been able to meet with him around my work schedule, and he has even come into the office on his days off. We have been to court many, many times in my case & Terry has performed beautifully each time. I honestly can't say enough good things about Terry. My husband and I have referred several friends to him & they have all been quite pleased with his services. I will say, if you are in the habit of lying or exaggerating to your attorney, Terry isn't the guy for you. If you're honest about your situation, he will represent you fairly and well. Terry is also a very good value for the money. He offers a discount if you pay on time, but if you can't payments are okay too.

Terry Spencer is very personable, he has excellent knowledge and get's the job done. He is very efficient and professional. I had to fire another lawyer before him and he took on my case with no hesitation, he brought back the confidence, my believes in the Justice System. He turned it all around, I highly recommend him to all of my friends, family members, co-workers etc. He is the one who will fight for you !!!

Terry is handling a an appeal of my divorce. My ex wife hears voices in her head that "give her direction" and she follows them without a second thought. She has not had a rational thought in more than 15 years. She has made outrageous claims, none of which have a thread of truth. She has delayed every motion; has buried the court with hundreds of documents; and continually files new documents that cause further delays. Two years after the divorce has been signed she continues to maintain that we are still married. Terry has patiently guided me through this process. He has rebutted every motion with a professional attitude. I have confidence that he will succeed in successfully defeating her appeal and expect that his skills will serve me well in the ensuing trial to resolve all issues raised by the appeal.

TR Spencer needs to get past his own falsely inflated ego and listen to his clients without trying to belittle them and discount their opinions just because they don't have a PHD, I was not impressed. Avoid him like the plague.

Please don't waste your time and money on this Attorney. It took him 7 months from my mediated agreement to the final draft of my decree and he still didn't get it right. He just wants to fleece you for as much as he can get, and could care less about you as a client.

Terry Spencer Attorney helped reunite me with my 9 year old son after an ugly battle with my wife. Without going into too many details, my wife was using custody of our son as a bargaining chip. His knowledge of the law and his way around the justice system seem to be the best available in Utah. I consulted 2 other lawyers before Terry Spencer and they all wanted more money and I never got to speak with the other guys directly. He took the worst situation of my life and made it into a happy one.

Terry Spencer has been an incredible. In the family law arena, it is very hard to find an attorney who is a) knowledgeable and b) willing to fight. Most attorneys simply don't have the kind of knowledge, background and personality of Mr. Spencer. We were referred to Terry as an excellent attorney by a former member of the governor's staff. We could not be more happy that we were. Terry Spencer has worked harder than our previous attorney, has spent time, after time, meeting with us to make sure he understandings our position and our needs. I am still in litigation after 3 years just trying to figure out what my ex should pay in child support, Spencer is my Ex's attorney, my ex makes nearly 1/2 million dollars a year but is very stupid, Spencer has found a sucker and is fleecing him and costing me ridiculous amounts of money to fight it. 3 years of litigation and torment and destruction of the kids all so TR Spencer can feather his nest. My attorney says that i may be in litigation for years if my ex keeps taking Spencer's advice. If you have unlimited cash, enjoy litigation, hate the person you are litigating against and want to lose your case, definitely hire TR Spencer, he will even go to see your kids advancement in your church! That was fun. What a sick sociopath this guy is.

Dr. Spencer represented me in my divorce case with my former husband and I got every thing I wanted, including sole custody of my kids, child support, alimony and limits on my husband's involvement with the kids, as my ex was abusive

Horrible attorney. He charges and arm and a leg and doesn't produce results. He withdrew from my case on the day of the hearing. He charged me ALOT of money and did nothing for me. I basically got the shaft in the courtroom. He is lazy and only wants your money. HORRIBLE ATTORNEY!!!

He has been disciplined by different state bars. The sanctions are very difficult to find for John Q Public. One that is of public record is found at;http://isb.idaho.gov/pdf/advocate/iss... From the reprimand; "The Professional Conduct Board of the Idaho State Bar has issued a Public Reprimand to Idaho and Utah lawyer, Terry R. Spencer, based on professional misconduct." and "Mr. Spencer “fell well below the standards of professional conduct” and that he was “permanently prohibited from admission to this court.”." That’s right; Terry R. Spencer is PERMANENTLY PROHIBITED FROM PRACTICING LAW IN NEVADA! Good for the citizens of NV but still bad for UT, ID, CA and anywhere else this guy claims to practice. If you have been a client of Spencer, I urge you to contact your State Bar Association to let them know your concerns. The only way to protect others from this guy. If you are considering retaining this attorney, RUN! If you read this and still retaim him blame no one!

I am a father in Utah who now has custody of my kids due to his hard work. He did his part well! Don't belive the other ratings, see for yourself! He has always been fair, kind and compasionate with me an my family. He also knows his law. That is why he has a Ph.D.
