I have bought and sold 5 houses in my life and John Stadynk is the worst real estate lawyer I have ever encountered. He was condescending, paternalistic, and told me that I should not be buying another house at my age. He spoke very fast, did not like questions and asked me twice if I would recommend him to others in our first meeting. He gave vey poor advise about how to navigate the banking system when paying off the interim financing. I had trouble due to his advice and he refused to reissue the cheque payable to the bank (suggested by the very branch where he banks) to solve the problem. Then told me to go put the cheque he gave me in my bank and write a cheque to the bank holding the financing all on that day, thus costing me $500 in fees and a frozen bank account for 5 business days. He is not working on behalf of his client, his is offering a specific service that he supplies with the least effort possible on his side. He also complained about my realtor’s phone calls.

John Stadnyk is an excellent lawyer! He is very thorough and wanted to make sure I understood the documents I was signing before I signed them. Other lawyers I've been to have just told me to sign without explaining the content. Highly highly recommend! :)

Recently did a commercial deal with this lawyer and he is very arrogant. Told me I was to unsophisticated to know what the documents were about!! Had so many errors in the documents... do not use this lawyer so many better ones in Edmonton ... STAY AWAY!

recently used this law firm for real estate. i could never get through on the phone. any time i did, the real estate assistant was so rude and would speak down at me. she did not answer emails. when i went in for appointment to sign, all the documents had typing errors and spelling mistakes. the lawyer kept leaving and coming back, in and out of appointment. the lawyer himself was nice and spent a lot of time with me, but unfortunately his rude assistant and all the mistakes, left me with a sour taste. plus he added extra charges to my legal bill without notice.
