Shokheen Singh is very unprofessional and always unprepared. She takes advantage f her of her own clients and rob them. As an example: She requested to pay upfront full amount for the Trial. It was paid. Then she found out I remortgage house and have available funds so she requested additional amount for the Trial. Trial did not happened as it was postponed. Trial documents were not prepared. I changed Lawyer as Shokheen is incapable to work on case, answer the opposing party on time and overall being prepared. I asked for money that were allocated for the Trial to be returned. Shokheen refused to return money and estimated an additional $24,000 of cost towards the Trial. She is real Thief and she takes advantage of her clients in every possible way. She also rude and has nasty attitude. Run for the hills from this very BAD Lawyer!

I have to agree with the negative reviews I have experienced the same issues. Lots of errors in her work with paperwork. Lots of corrections needing to be done even when corrections have been fixed she uses wrong paperwork. Minimal work was completed. Unorganized and unprofessional and very repetitive for clients because of her errors. Not very responsive especially when a client is in need takes weeks and months to respond. Talks a lot in the beginning to get your business and makes you feel like she would really help you but once she gets the funds it's the opposite. I wish I didn't waste so much with her!

Extremely unprofessional lawyer who does not care about anything or anyone but money. Even if she knows your child is suffering she does not care and can’t even argue with other lawyers because she’s scared of them and they usually put her in her place. She has no respect in court and I caught her sucking up to the opposing lawyer. Do not use her unless you want to end up wasting time and money and losing anyway. She barely survives from legal aid certificates because no one in their right mind would pay out of pocket for her. She gathers as many legal aid cases as she can just to get by. She truly shouldn’t be working as a family lawyer. It’s a disgrace

My ex tried to out-spend me cuz I was on legal aid and there family has money but Shokhheen put up a smart fight and really did lots for me. Also she was really funny and helped my anxiety problems at court making me less afraid and stuff.. my last lawyer did nothing so I always be great full to miss Singh for her extra help. All I can say is she is hard to get a hold off sometimes and maybe her secretary was not the best, I don’t know.

Really sharp on her feet. Funny and kept me calm during a really stressful time in my life. She is great at court. My baby's father was so mean to me but she found a to resolve my case in a short period of time.

Shokheen is a sharp trial lawyer who is not afraid to be in court. She was very confident and knowledgeable in the courtroom. I particularly liked her sense of humour and she was flexible with evening appointments which was great. Court was very stressful for me but if i really needed to talk, she or her staff were always there to listen. She dealt with a lot of my issues patiently and im happy with the result.

Busy lawyer with busy secretary, so sometimes was slower to respond than i wanted, but never let me and my kids down when it counted. Nice lady, but tough... actually cares too. Seemed all the judges knew her, which made us feel better.

Overall, good lawyer. She is busy but she is strong in Court. She really shines in the Court room. But book in advance to meet her as she is busy.

I retained Shokheen Singh to handle my family case in court. I admit it was a mistake, I was deceived by these positive reviews about her but after I delt with her I realized it's probable her adding these reviews to improve her score. Even though Shokheen did minimal to nothing on my file still I received a huge bill. Ms. Singh never even bothered calling me on the phone to inquire about any information on my file.

It was sort of a relief to finally get a new lawyer that wasn't afraid of judges and TRIALS! Also she didn't make lots of nice promises... instead was really down to earth and realistic about my situation. She was pretty compassionate about my circumstances and kept me in the loops about her strategies and things. I guess she was so busy that it made her kinda slow about returning messages, but she replies eventually.

Overall good bang for your buck... would recommend - especially if you are looking for someone sharp to play catch up on a complicated legal mess that started long before they even sign up for the case. My main complaint about Ms. Singh would be speed/responsiveness of communication. I felt like she was hard to get on the phone and often waited quite a while for her attention. To be fair though, she warned me of exactly this when I paid up her retainer and she certainly seemed really busy (which must be a positive I guess). My previous lawyer was more prompt returning emails, calls etc. but still billed the hell out of me and ended up doing for far less for my case than Ms. Singh did. In court she was pretty stern and tough, especially compared to my last guy, which I think helped in the long run. Also, don't know if this matters, but everyone at the courthouse seemed to know/like her... not sure why, but this made me feel more confident in the process and stuff.

Hey all, really surprised by these negative reviews on here, but anyways, Ms. Shokheen Singh is a great lawyer and I felt lucky to get someone as capable as her on my side considering I was just on Legal Aid. She really went above and beyond with my case... she gave my problems lots of extra attention and even did some stuff for free. She was really tough with other lawyer in court and stood up to the Judge for me.

Shokheen Singh needs to be disbarred, she is ill-fit in representing clients with sensitive and complex cases. Terrible negotiator, appears to be unknowledgeable about court proceedings, standard legal processes, unprofessional in every sense of the word. How and why she got into family law, only God knows. Use her services at your own risk!!

MS. Singh was very caring to my case. She tried very hard and got me an excellent result for my Trial. She is an aggressive lawyer that gets results. Her rates are reasonable and the firm is still accepting legal aid certificates which was a bonus for me.

This lawyer is inexperienced and knows little about family laws in court. She scavenges legal aid certificates for survival. Her character is very nasty and mean and unprofessional. She is always unprepared and she gives her documents to her legal assistants for preparation, which are always riddled with mistakes. Get this lawyer only if you are on legal aid, but don't expect much in return.
