Wasn’t my lawyer is my ex’s lawyer. No regard for the fear of the victim. Represents the ex in family and criminal law. He has conditions to stay away. He has him out to his house (on our street) laughs in court about how he has two retainers. Gross. Business. It’s about his pay check not any decency. No emotional intelligence.

This lawyer knew his stuff and was exceptional at moving my matter forward in a productive and quick manner. I was well served. I’m aware that the person who put the comments in at June of 2020 is up on criminal harassment charges for allegedly stalking this lawyer and his family. He works at Redpath and has significant psychological issues. His name is Alain Leonard. He’s very ill.

Absolutely horrible lawyer. He is extremely unprofessional and unethical. He promised many things to his clients that he did not deliver on. He went to trial extremely unprepared and could not even form a coherent sentence when he would go to speak to the judge... yet another law society of Ontario case opened against him. WARNING: Do not use Shawn Hamilton as a lawyer!

Very unethical uses the court system as a games room constantly lying directly to the judges face . Interferes with people’s personal affairs and is found guilty of malconduct and to be sentenced soon . He is hated threw out the city for his conduct and is associated with ex convicts . If you want to be associated with this individual your reputation will likely follow his . proceed with caution read this and you will see the type of person he is . Common sense and thorough did not overlook a single thing in the mess I was in with my ex. Picks up the phone when you call and is prompt in getting things done. Been with him on two matters and would hire him again without a question

Was hired to represent me as a criminal lawyer and he worked hard to try and see my side of everything to be able to defend me. He was always informative and explained the way the legal system works. Asked the important questions and never sugarcoated anything. And although the court battle was timely I got the results I wanted and deserved when my charges were withdrawn. Was very happy with his work.

I had a terrible time with him. He was just grinding it out and earning money. The offer presented by the other lawyer at the beginning of the matter is what happened at the end. Every penny that was paid to him was wasted.

Tenacious, professional, honest and works very hard for his few. Could not have asked for a better lawyer or defence in my divorce. Highly recommend Mr Hamilton. He is dedicated and very well respect in his profession.

We would definitely not recommend Shawn as a lawyer for anything or to anyone unless you wanted to be left feeling disappointed. He talked a big game but when it came down to it what he accomplished for us was pathetic. We were in a 4 year custody/divorce case in which things dragged on and on and when it game down to final agreements he ignored what we told him were important to us and our priorities and ended up getting us a way worse deal then we had in place before we hired him. It just felt like he was tired of being apart of the case and him and the opposing lawyer just finally through some bs together. Friends of friends also had very underwhelming and disappointing dealings with him. Stay away!

Hired him on criminal charges. Saved my butt. Hard worker and never gives up. Cared about my case and he refused to negotiate with the prosecutor. Abrasive and grouchy. Not a push over.

I hired him in a nasty custody and access case I was in because my ex was so difficult and unreasonable and nasty. He kept things focused and clear for me as he gradually got me to a place of shared time with my boys. The judges really seemed to respect him and in court he was to the point and persuasive. He did not come cheap but he secured the very outcome I hired him for. No questions he does very good work in court. I would hire him again no questions.

I was in a three year custody and access battle with my ex. he worked hard and clearly cared about my case and my children. he took the time to understand my case and he was not about the money. for six months I had lost my job and I was without income - he wrote off his entire bill for this period of time and was compassionate - I went on a payment plan to pay the rest off and he did not hound me. if you have a difficult case and need someone who will work long and hard and will be fearless in court - I would recommend Mr. Hamilton in a heartbeat. he can be harsh at times but he's focused, dedicated, and a very good lawyer. he easily could have charged me 25k for the work he did - he didn't - and most importantly, he cared about me and my family.

All this lawyer wanted was money .a 2 year custody battle and I walked way with the typical every other weekend. He did not listen at to me as his client nor did he defend anything in court .waste of alot of money and for nothing . I could have self represented and got the same outcome. Stay away from him.

Don't use this lawyer for criminal charges. He simply did not seem interested in the case and suggested a plea bargain even though the client was innocent of willful wrong doing and would have had a good case for acquittal.
