April 2024, I revoked consent for Darius to contact me. He replied to me on that same email. This happened multiple times.
The below is applicable November 2023 - March 2024,
"Do not hire this corrupt lawyer. This bully tricks innocent parents into doing his job. He’s been “working” with my divorce, with a “plethora amount of time” for over 4 months, and he hasn’t even made a single appointment yet. There were countless red flags whenever I spoke to him. It’s unfortunate my future-ex tricked me into hiring him while I was vulnerable. I’m healthy now. The truth will speak for itself. I hope this review will warn virtuous parents to stay away from this thieving vulture."

First meeting he told me he gets less than his usual houly rate to be the GAL. Sometimes the opposing attorney did not show for zoom court, and he would text her and take notes for her. At one meeting, he told a 16 year old disabled child that they could do what the want in two years, which I would argue is horrible advice. Most of his rulings were cut and pastes from the previous mediator and JPA. In the end he could have done more for a special needs child, but took the path of less than full effort. Parents of SPED see this all the time, in schools, clubs, and some medical services...a silent quitting of their roles by the professional who are in charge of the advocacy. GAL should be required to have some professional training for this role ; not some made up attorney BS so the can snag more side work. I will be contacting State Legislators on this soon.. I’m disapointed with the system as much as the individuals operating it.

I was a witness in a case involving equitable caregiver visitation. Darius is not well organized does skip over the process of investigating properly in fact, tells the people on both sides in advance of his recommendations. He didn't do any investigation at all and actually appears to be more of an advocate for an abuser than a real guardian ad litem. He is judgemental and already has his mind made up way in advance. He is a crook .

Mr. Sethna was biased in developing our parenting agreement as a GAL. He did not investigate any concerns. His recommendations favored my ex even though he was informed parental alienation went on while married. He made several mistakes, one was spring break; this was not included. He refused to mandate my ex share with transportation. He refused summer custody even though I was off work. He refused to allow me to pick up our daughter from school. When my ex discontinued therapy for our daughter and I attempted to continue; he said I was out of compliance. His recommendations were not supported by facts. Many conflicts continuedleading to more court dates. Our daughter is in counseling due to anxiety for which he could have corrected 6 years ago. A new GAL was appointed to my case; the judge did not feel Mr. Sethna should continue. Avoid this lawyer as he is very biased and opinionated regardless of facts which he did not investigate. More conflict = more $ for lawyers.

Mr Sethna was my son's GAL during a very long contemptuous divorce. He was very good to and with my son. I may not have always liked his decisions in the moment but he was truly fair, patient, knowledgeable and most importantly despite all the divorce drama between myself and ex-husband, Mr Sethna always put our son first. If you want an attorney (GAL) who is going to put your child/children first, while you battle through the confusing, difficult and messiness of the divorce process, Mr Sethna is the best. M.P.

Mr. Sethna did not inform me of my rights when advocating to resolve time I was seeking for my daughter. First right of refusal was signed into law in August of 2013, however, it was never communicated to me that I can pursue that right with the judge. My parenting agreement was resolved after discovering by accident the first right of refusal WAS signed. I may not have gotten it, however, it was never communicated I can go for it. (I wanted ALL the time I could possibly get. In my opinion, he should have informed me of the law and what I can do to get it. In addition, he never performed an investigation to guide our parenting agreement. It was settled at a table, without ever conducting character witness checks. Had there been one he would have been made aware how determined my x was in limiting my time with my daughter. I should say though, he resolved our agreement which could have continued for a very long time.
