The stars aligned when I was seeking legal council. Anne Story emailed me and asked me to call her (on a Sunday I may add). She took the time out of her private life to give me advice over the phone. After hearing my situation she pointed me in the right direction. Taking her advice, I got to work. I called her back to update her and basically begged her to take my case. She agreed and went to work! We had everything resolved within a week. I found her to be honest, caring and accommodating. Anne was very generous with her time. I will be forever grateful to her. I recently used Story Law Office to help me with a matter in which my ex-spouse moved outside the city limits with our child and was specifically court ordered not to. It was a matter that was time sensitive and she did the paperwork the next day, submitted it and we were in court 2 days later to have the matter resolved. She is quick and thorough and although her fees are high ... it's worth the money.

My experience with Anne began when I had retained the services of a Lawyer who quickly became unreliable and extremely hard to get a hold of. From the start, Anne took control and assured me of the process and provided me with real, honest, straight forward advice. With Anne’s instant professional support, I understood immediately Anne cares about her clients and is willing to do what it takes for each of them. Anne always kept me informed, contacting me only when absolutely necessary and letting me know the important steps along the way. There was always a clear understanding with Anne, she dealt with me one-on-one, never passing me off to an assistant. I was also able to contact Anne anytime I needed; she always called me back in an efficient, timely manner. Anne made a difficult situation manageable and she also provided me with essential advice on how to cut costs. I am extremely happy to have chosen Anne; she is confident, professional, focused and fought hard for me. And we won!

I utilized Anne's expertise in my divorce. The case should have been fairly straightforward but my Ex and her lawyer took an unnecessarily litigious approach. Throughout the case Anne acted professionally, diligently and sought to minimize legal fees. At the forefront of her mind was always what was best for me and I am extremely happy with the outcome. I would highly recommend Anne for her expertise and level-headed approach.

I had looked for awhile for a great lawyer, got advice from two in Calgary but after speaking to a friend who used Lawyer Story , I decided to use her. She was fantastic. She had great knowledge, very compassionate, communicated every move she made and worked hard to get me my fair share. She was a feisty lawyer who knew just how to get me what I deserved. I would HIGHLY recommended her to any of my friends or family that would require her expertise. Thanks again Anne for helping me through this horrible time.

As a lawyer with years of experience there was a surprising lack of knowledge. At times she didn't seem to have a grasp on what was going on with the divorce, which in our case, wasn't particularly complicated. Anne seemed to lose interest in bringing the case to closure, taking months to provide documents which she promised to have ready in a week. I'm not sure if it's always handled this way, but her approach was a letter writing campaign which for the most part, was ineffective and was a major factor in slowing progress. Sometimes the letter content was repetitive and irrelevant and revisited issues which had already been discussed and resolved. Her verbal communication skills definately surpass skill as a writer. I don't have vast experience dealing with lawyers, however, after 2 years of observing her performance it is at best, mediocre. She is fortunate she's not working for a larger firm where her performance would be subject to professional review.

I would highly recommend legal services from Anne Story. I had an excellent experience from the first phone call until the resolution of my divorce proceedings. This was my first experience working with a lawyer and feel Anne far exceeded my expectations.
My recommendation is based upon:
• Everything she said to me during the initial, free consultation was true and she followed through on everything she committed to
• She told me what I needed to hear not what I wanted to hear and was very clear on my options and her recommendations on how to move forward. She would even stop the process and have me walk away to collect my thoughts when required.
• Anne was very accommodating. She worked around my schedule and even checked in on me when she was on holidays
• She provided feedback on the work I could complete myself to reduce overall cost. In the end this saved me thousands of dollars.
• She set good expectations on the process and expected outcome
• She handled a strenuous situa

Anne came very highly recommended. She is astute, methodical,efficient and knowledgeable. Anne's communication skills were outstanding throughout the case. She always took my phone calls to discuss options and how to handle issues. If she was busy with another client, she always got back to me within a short time frame. Anne is not only passionate about her profession, she is a great listener and non-judgmental. It was very comforting to know that she was always there as my lawyer and my coach. Her professionalism and integrity are above reproach.

Going through a divorce is not enjoyable for anyone, so I cannot say that I enjoyed the process. What I can say is that Anne Story gave me excellent, honest, straight forward advice. She knows the law and she knows what the law can accomplish and even more importantly, what it cannot accomplish. Her assistant made sure my information was promptly passed on and Anne's responses to my questions were timely. She saved me undue stress, time and even money. I whole heartedly recommend this lawyer.

This lady is extremely rude and threatening. She threatened my lawyer and myself by trying to say I had to sign a separation agreement before I took my child on a holiday or she would have it cancelled. Luckily my ex spouses company is paying her fees otherwise Ms Story would have cost her a fortune. She cost me a fortune through my lawyer because rather than writing the separation agreement she picked 1 thing and wrote a letter for my lawyer to respond to each time. About 30 letters went back and forth for no reason. Also my ex and I spoke but seems she didn't even listen to my ex about what to write in these letters.....I understand each lawyer represents their own client, but don't be rude and unprofessional about it, as she was. I would not recommend this lawyer to anyone and neither would my lawyer who will be filing a complaint about her as well. Do your homework first before hiring her. FYI this is my own experience and my review, others may have had better.

To whomever is writing the negative comments above in regards to this lawyer is truly a disgruntled soul. They must of not liked hearing the truth. Therefore, I am writing this testimony to discount those negative comments. Anne is a very professional and astute lawyer. I now that I was very fortunate to have her as my lawyer and she exceeded my expectations. She settled my file instead of it going to court and did it in a timely manner. A perceptive and excellent negotiator! She regularly followed up with me as my file progressed and was willing to listen to all the questions I had. She answered my calls in office or returned them shortly, even though she is a very busy lawyer. She is pleasant and more importantly calls a spade a spade (no sugar coding it) which I think is a great attribute. She gets the job done for her clients and I will be using her services again when needed. I highly recommend her.

Anne Story was referred to me by a family friend. Anne Story has always given my case up-most attention and was available when I required her. She has good knowledge of the court system and processes and has a good reputation for this. Anne Story has on many occasions worked with me to ensure I receive value in her services. I would recommend her services for anyone requiring a divorce/family lawyer.

I retained Anne at a sensitive time in my life while going through a separation. She is extremely knowledgeable, honest and current with the law, and put me at ease during the process. I was kept up to date with my case, phone calls were returned quickly and she explained ways in which I could save money. My case was settled favorably, but fairly and I am quite happy with the results! Anne Story has proven herself to be a great lawyer who is compassionate and truly cares about her clients.

Anne is expensive ($450/hour), has no assistant (so you pay her full pop whether she is in court or licking stamps), has poor work ethic, lacks fire in the belly, is difficult to get along with (i.e. abrasive and likes to pass the buck) and is much more concerned with her pay cheque than you case.
