The only way to make her move an inch is to pay her more. She advertised that she would do what’s best for the children. Absolutely terrible, it’s disgusting that she even is still employed after she has done absolutely nothing for my families custody case. After a year of nothing being communicated from her she came forward threatening more than requesting a counselor will decide visitation - we didn’t respond and she then submitted documents for more money in order to do “more work” she has done nothing absolutely nothing !! There is a DCFS case against the defendant ( opposite party) and the GAL still is saying that that party should have all the kids ?? my step son could’ve died!!! Like it’s beyond evil

I agree with the reviews about her going “AWOL”. Our initial meeting was great, I finally felt hopeful for my kids that someone was going to actually advocate for them. I was so wrong. She had our case for a year as a GAL and did NOTHING. Did not ever talk to the witnesses I provided (teachers, principal, children’s mercy practitioner, detective, school counselor) none. She stated in November of our case that she was ready to make a recommendation and we didnt hear anything from her again until April- after we had been kicked to another courtroom, by that time she had forgotten the important details about our case. She still made no recommendation (despite CPS and children mercy finding evidence of abuse and a Preponderance of Evidence against my ex husband on both of my children) the week before we were set for trial she STILL had not talked to witnesses or looked at records. We were forced to settle bc we never had a recommendation- their abusive father now has them 35% bc of her.

Michelle presents well and does a good job when you can get her to work. The main issue with her is she is very unresponsive and it literally can take months to get her to respond or work on your case. She won my case and was suppose to prepare judgement for judge to sign and the court almost dismissed my case because she did not respond or prepare judgement until a date was set by the court for dismissal due to her not responding to them. She still doesn’t hesitate to charge a lot of money. An example would be on my final bill one email was $240.00. I would not use her again.

I don't understand these ratings as she's been nothing but wonderful to me. She always responds dutifully and when I need her, her secretary lets her know and she calls within 10 mins. She also addresses all of my concerns, even to the point of calling after hours on her own time. She is sympathetic and empathetic and is a wonderful lawyer and a person. She hears my concerns and addresses them with honesty and respect. Michelle Dunn is a wonderful lawyer.

She was our GAL and it is our opinion that she did not fairly represent the children. She seemed professional in our initial interviews with her, but then she was absent and completely out of left field in court. In our opinion, any dad looking for equal shared parenting should avoid her.

She interviewed well and it was down hill from there. She doesn't return calls or emails until you threaten her with legal action. I was lied to by her on the way my divorce, specifically separation of property, would be handled in court. I learned that she had lied to me on my way into court after traveling 10 hours the day before to be there. I had to hire PI's to get the information I needed to get divorced with a separation of property. She then blamed me for not listening. I had kept extensive notes and let her know it. She wasted over a year of my time and a large retainer doing nothing for me. I got the divorce with property settlement because I spent allot more money and time to get it. She told me most people she worked with were so desperate to get divorced they didn't care about a property settlement! She knew from the beginning I wanted the property settlement. I kept asking and she simply lied to not work harder. She was worthless.

Awful GAL. Michelle was appointed GAL over my kids for a modification suite. Never responded back to my concerns. My child had two therapists, she never even took the time to talk to either one of them.

I agree wholeheartedly with the prior reviewer of 8/12. Ms.Dunn seemed excellent during our initial consultation in January 2012. She seemed professional, ethical and agressive. Since that time, she has been "AWOL". Very non-responsive with my calls and e-mails, even when some of the contacts were of an emergency nature. I ran into Atty by default at a local store, and only then did she communicate with me, because I was flabbergasted and politely asked her why she'd not responded to me time and again. She promised me "the moon" AGAIN. That was Dec 2012. To date she has not delivered. I have now seeked legal counsel elsewhere and informed her as such. She's a high dollar Atty as she charges a "mint" to review my repeated voicemails and emails to her, even though, no response was given back to me during those communications. She made "easy" money from me (she knowing full well that I am a single Mom on a very tight budget) without doing much of anything. I feel totally duped. :(

Will not return calls or emails in a timely manner. Ignores urgent but legitimate requests for updates. Not aggressive at all. Only takes action when opposing party is the aggressor. Procrastinates to clients' detriment. Must be constantly pushed and reminded to file or include things in filings. Does not inspire confidence.
