I hired this "attorney" based on her alleged winning record and expertise on family law. In my hopes to have our kid back, instead she ended up losing our case but pocketing over $30k. She was highly disorganized, a constant gaslighter, and very aggressive and reactive. She nickle and dimed us for the slightest response, motioned for an order that she knew would fail but it came out of our pocket, led us to believe we'd win. When in reality it was just fillers, silly non-binding agreements, and courtroom antics that would make columbo proud. Joy did not review any of the materials submitted and thought she could bully the judge and opposing counsel, which by the way, he said very little - so they didn't win the case, Joy lost it. And given how this ruined our family dynamics, lacked the empathy for to even say, "I'm sorry." NOPE! Instead, making it about herself and her "countless wins." BUYER BEWARE, I'd question any 5* review that sounds like fluff and holds no credible evidence.

I hired Joy to help with my divorce in 2020 - the fees were SO shocking, I dug into them, and saw that she was claiming time for MULTIPLE meetings and discussions that never happened - luckily I keep a tight calendar (by the 1/4 hour) for my work, and also had cell phone bills to prove we had not even spoken on days she was billing me for. Her office did reverse $2,000.00 worth of charges, but just barely. Keep records - for all attorneys!

Joy Stanley is a horrible excuse for an attorney let alone for one who treats divorce/child custody disputes ethically. For not much of my surprise after consulting with more than a dozen attorneys it became apparent that they all have had their terrible experiences with her and her general reputation is rather loathsome. She’s got an explosive temper, treats opposing council beyond unprofessionally and while your already prolonged litigation worsens the more $$ she will charge you for useless ex-parte filings and for court documents filled with lies. Please give yourself a favor and don’t put your family and child(ren) into a situation this attorney will likely to further complicate and traumatize

I hired Joy Stanley against my ex-wife. She's smart in that talk around you and pretend to be your best friend when she wants more money, but she threw me under the bus when I got up on the stand. She is dishonest, changes her story, promises things she never intended on keeping, and will threaten you by saying that you are guilty anyway. I am still paying the consequences not just by my pocket book and enormous fees, but by believing that she was going to defend me like she said she would. She said she would fight for me and then last minute said SHE WOULDN'T EMBARASS HERSELF IN COURT. So I lost. But Joy got her money. I'm not the best writer but read what I am saying.

One I feel bad because the only negative comment on Joy came from a drug abusing client that couldn’t accept their part in what is always a complicated situation with two side both of which have there own truths. Two of you are honest and have a real case and you care deeply about your child or children and not just yourself Joy will find a way for that positiveness to come through while she does the nessasarry aggressive legal work that our biased legal system requires. So if you are a good person in a bad situation Joy could not come more highly recommended.

Joy Stanley will win, she is on her A game in the court room. She will follow your case from beginning to end, including all Child Support matters. She has a superb Child Support associate who will never fail you. She will get your Order After Hearing perfect. She does not over bill you and considers your ability to pay. Her goal is to leave you happy with her results and to always protect the best interest of your family and your child/children. This is not a business for her, but a calling. She will protect you and your family, rights and child at all costs.

Very honest lawyer. These bad comments are false from horrible people who Ms. Stanley treated very well and gave two of them over $100,000 in free legal services. This is exactly why no one should ever listen to reviews on line because they are not reliable.

I can only think of one person possessing the necessary diplomacy, patience, and savvy coupled with an encyclopedic knowledge of family law more capable than Joy Stanley to resolve any divorce, especially mine which by all accounts was daunting. She was a pleasure to work with, fair, honest, compassionate, and most importantly, fast; and I might add, extremely tough when needed. She brought light to a very dark tunnel and I cannot thank her enough, so my suggestion is this: If anyone out there needs the best divorce attorney in the business, call Joy.

Joy Stanley handled my extremely complex and high asset divorce for 2 years. I was lucky to find her. she did an excellent job against one of the top known firms in West Los Angeles. I am confident my ex will be referring her friends to her!

My father hired her for his divorce. He is a 68 year old man with terminal cancer. After doing a decent job, she returned only 30% of the remaining retainer after overcharging on every single bill he received. If you make the mistake of hiring her---CHECK YOUR BILL!!
