This lawyer was recommended by my real estate agent. From my personal experience I can verify that all the negative comments written above are 100 % true. I have come to the conclusion that he is only interested in doing simple, straight forward paper transactions and receiving his fees. That he is never available to his clients if they need him to address any other related matters that concern them. He is more like a vending machine than a personal lawyer. He never returned my calls or replied to my emails which were acknowledged by his staff. I think that sometimes they were embarrassed by his lack of common decency and professionalism. He should be censored.

Save yourself the trouble, just don't do business with them. This law firm was recommended to us when we bought our property, so we brought our documents in on a Friday afternoon. We had 8 calendar days left to our cooling off period. On the following Tuesday, we still hadn't heard anything from the law firm. We had to call them twice before we were told that our documents would be reviewed by the upcoming Friday, which would leave us 24 hours to make a decision on our purchase without being penalised. We chose to deal with another law firm. When our agent picked up the documents, they only gave us half of what we had brought in and they were closed on the weekend!! The sales office thankfully gave us a 72 hour extension as well as another copy of the missing documents that we were able to bring into the other law firm. The lack of professionalism was beyond belief. They didn't even bother apologising for misplacing our documents and potentially making us lose our new place.

I am a real estate broker. I used to refer a lot of business to him. Yet, on my own purchase he messed up the closing. He failed to do title search on time. As a result, I had to delay my closing and that resulted in additional expenses. He further failed to protect my interests when I uncovered after closing that there were work orders from the city and the title insurance company refused to step up to the plate. Again, as the result of Jonathan's actions or lack thereof. Jonathan also failed to do due diligence and provide proper information to my family member who had purchased a cottage. Lawyers are supposed to have their client's bet interests at heart. Jonathan is not one of those people. Poor communication and complete lack of desire to do anything beyond paper pushing on simple and straight forward deals. Stay away from this careless, heartless, useless lawyer.

Communication was AWFUL with Jonathan Griffith and his law firm. It was very difficult to get a hold of him or to confirm appointment times with his office. He misrepresented me and made an agreement without my consent even though he knew I was not in favour, which created a lot of turmoil. He did not even acknowledge his mistake or correct it in any way. He did nothing to rectify the situation. Do your research before picking a lawyer and find someone who will represent you fairly with your consent and fight for your rights and your best interest. The overall reviews written here are quite accurate and are a good representation of his ethics and work quality, which is very poor.

Jonathan Griffiths and his law firm is the WORST! Keep calling and leaving messages but never returns calls. Extremely incompetent, completely unprofessional, and truly untrustworthy. PLEASE, PLEASE save yourself the stress and hassle. Real Estate transaction is the biggest and complex purchase you will every make. Please avoid Joanthan Griffith and his law firm at all cost. Even if this review, saves one person from all the stress, sleepless nights, and aggravation, then it is worth it.

This communication issue is unfortunate, because when he closed our home everything went well. Now when I need to make changes its almost impossible to get it done in an efficient manner, due to lack of communication.

I have used this firm to buy one house and one condo. Also for the sale of one house. Everything went very well. I agree, they are not the best at returning calls, but the results were great. Over a period of ten years, I have submitted several potential condo purchases to Johnathan to look over and advise. Always no charge! Possibly they were undergoing growing pains a few years ago, but now everything seems to be finst rate! Highly recomment this firm

I agree with all of the negative comments. The office does not respond to emails or phone calls. I needed him to stand up for me in a real estate transaction and he didn't because he was friends with the opposing real estate agent. Use at your own risk.

The first thing everyone will notice about this firm is that the communication is NO good. They rarely return emails or phone calls. I would let a week pass between emails before spending good energy on getting someone to speak with me. 3 months have passed since closing, so I think my review should be considered since I am no longer speaking out of frustration. Plus, this is not my first home purchase. As a buyer you should want your lawyer to explain what's happening and what's going to happen in the process. This firm does not do any of this. My purchase was a condo. Not 20 days after getting the keys, the condo maintenance fees shot up 40%. I brought it to the lawyer, and he said that the status certificate didn't indicate any reason for the increase and weasled his way out of doing anything about it. He already had his money, so why should he, right? I just hope my new home is ACTUALLY mine and the paper work was done right. Nice guy to talk to though! Avoid this firm at all costs

Very bad communication. I should've known better when no one from his office returned my initial email, but I went with him because my realtor recommended him. Got a call on the day of closing at 12:30pm that they hadn't received a document from the bank and asked if I could get the bank to send it to them otherwise we couldn't close...Umm, why was this left so late and isn't that your job??? After a very big scramble and much stress, this problem was solved. Totally avoidable error. I do not recommend this lawyer.

This guys and his ppl are the worst. Everyone says he's good, but he really suck. They never returns calls or keep you in the loop of what happening with your purchase. He took so much of our money , thank god , my husband is really aggressive and put them in there place. Please save your money and find someone who is willing to take the time to explain everything to you.

Jonathan Griffiths is one of the worst lawyers I have ever had. My house was scheduled to sell on August 30, 2008 and he was no where to be found. I called his office and the receptionist told me he is in the office but could not come and offer to take a message so that he would return my calls but he never did. I had no idea that the otherside was in trouble. My agent recommended him to me but all they care about is there commission so if you get this lawyer you will most likly be screwed if you need to talk to him after he gets your business and takes your money. HE SUCKS .
