On 18 June 2008, I met with McArthur's paralegal Amber and law student Amy, believing they were attorneys working with McArthur even though my appointment was with McArthur. I signed a contract and left McArthur's office without having ever met with McArthur because Amber assured me that McArthur would assist me in obtaining the services of a physician when I moved. Unfortunately, my knee continued to swell. I contacted Ms. McArthur to assist me in obtaining medical treatment because the adjuster insisted I see a doctor 107 miles away from my home, but she never returned any of my calls or answered my emails or faxes. I then received a letter from McArthur she was withdrawing as my counsel. I then filed a complaint with the GA Bar to get my documents back. McArthur's actions were unethical and unprofessional and did not reflect the professional standards of her profession. Her actions and lack of professional conduct could have very well resulted in the amputation of my left leg. |
