My father recommended Ms Jackson when I was going through a bitter custody battle with my ex wife. The questions she asked when we first consulted let me know she was paying attention to what I said and cared about what I wanted. My ex was pulling all sorts of nasty tricks and accusations to make me seem unfit but Ms Jackson fought hard for me and won. Ms. Jackson represented me four years ago in obtaining the best custody arrangements for my 2 children, and in helping me with a very lengthy and hard divorce after 22 years of marraige. Ms. Jackson may indeed be an ok lawyer on paper and her prices are about average for this area however during my divorce proceedings, she was not very informative and did not communicate well and I felt as if my children did not matter to her in the case but only the money. She consistently hung the phone up on myself and the opposing party when she did not hear what she wanted to and she would not respond to calls placed to her on a timely matter. She has her assistant do most of the contact when she is the expert so she was the one that I hired. She was not willing to talk things out between parties but instead stated what was requested and if the other party did not agree then there was no deal. This may be great for some one who is looking for an attorney who will fight however at what cost to your childrens best interest... that is the most important thing after all isn't it? My experience with other attorneys has been greatly different and I won my case without the negativity. |

Edith represented me writing my prenuptial agreement. I felt that Edith was very knowledgeable. She helped me put together what I wanted, and did not push me to do things I did not. She helped me come up with solutions when my fiancée and I were challenged on some terms. She set clear expectations of what the cost would be and was very reasonable, where other lawyers I've used just keep logging hours and hand you a bill when you had no idea what the cost would be. Edith helped me put together something to build a strong marriage based on clear expectations as opposed to fighting "against" my fiancée, now my wife of 4 years. |
