Gary has been excellent since the very beginning of my case, last February. He was clear on what I needed to do, what he needed from me, and what he would provide. He gave sound advice throughout the process. He knows the law and the legal system, as well as the judges and other lawyers. The respect that he has earned and his relationships are invaluable in navigating this process. He is available by phone, email and text, even on weekends when necessary. He is also very busy, since he is in high demand, so I learned to trust that if I left a message and the situation needed immediate action he would be on it. If I didn't hear back right away, then my issue was not a crisis and I could relax and he would get back to me as soon as possible. On top of his game! Compassionate, understanding, receptive, professional, knowledged, prepared, superbly effetive are a few words that come to mind when discussing Gary Avratin. He is a phenomenal attorney and unlike most, he gets results without "taking you to the cleaners". I would highly recommend Gary. He helped me through a very difficult custody dispute with a very controlling ex-spouse who attempted to alienate me from my children. I had already been through two other attorneys that were terrible advocates. If you are searching for an attorney that will work with you, listen to your needs and get results, I would strongly recommend Gary Avratin. Divorce is not easy.It takes too long, it costs too much; it weakens you mentally, physically, emotionally and definitely financially.
Gary Avratin was great. He showed up prepared to win, his tactics where well thought out, based on experience and education. He was tough but he worked with compassion. He communicated effectively and worked in a timely manner. I always felt confident of his counsel and trusted his guidance. Gary is well connected in the legal industry and respected by his peers. Gary has all the services at his disposal a person might need, such as financial planning, real estate guidance or family counseling services. Gary’s office staff is concerned and efficient. My best friend left when he divorced me after 22 years; but as a result I gained 2 lifelong friends in Gary Avratin and his assistant Helene LoConte. There's no other team I would rather have worked with. They're great people and extremely knowledgeable in what they do. Gary was referred to me by 3 people who couldn't possibly have known each other. Gary worked very diligently with me, patiently explained and kept me involved in the process. He wouldn't quit until I received what I deserved, given the length of my marriage. The final agreement was "light-years" away from my husband and his lawyers' original offer! During the distressing times of my divorce, family members became ill and I became extremely low. The compassionate side of Gary then became evident. In spite of his very busy family life, he checked on me periodically at my home to see if I was okay. Gary is a gentle man of vast knowledge, who is caring and comforting. Highly Recommended. Gary has proved to be a reliable, considerate, and a persistent attorney. I retain Gary one year after my divorce was final because my first attorney forcefully finalized the divorce w/o closing loose ends and my ex-husband did not comply with any of the terms of the agreement. I met Gary and I immediately felt he would be looking out for my best interest, he was not working for the money he was working for me. His kindness and diligence was such a change from what I had first experienced. He was able to enforce the agreement through the court system. Through Gary's diligence my ex-husband was not only forced to comply with the original divorce agreement he was also made accountable for my legal fees. My experience with Gary was excellent. He came highly recommended by a trusted friend and business associate. From the first time I met with him I felt confident my case would be handled in a professional and knowledgeable manner. My working 2nd shift made it more difficult for Gary to get me what I needed. I wanted my children to be able to stay in the home they grew up in to keep there lives as normal as possible. I fired my first attorney when I felt I was going to lose custody of my children. Gary reassured me that would not happen, and if he did his job effectively we could even avoid trial. Although he gave me no promises, because of his knowledge and diligence I was able to reach a mutually satisfactory settlement, keeping the home, getting shared custody of my three children, and avoiding a costly trial. Gary came highly recommended by a friend (one of his former clients), and I’m glad he was on my side during my divorce. My ex was unreasonable and was representing himself which presented a series of obstacles that Gary somehow managed to maneuver -- I could not have done it on my own nor do I think another attorney would have had the savoir faire to handle it either. I never blog on the internet, but maybe I can help someone out there make a really wise choice. Attorney Gary Avratin represented me in my divorce case in 2003. I am a Father. Because of Gary, instead of being thrown out of my house and on to the street with my clothes in a trash bag, I got to stay in the marital home from October until the following January. I left my children (one with special needs) on a mutually agreed upon day with my dignity in my hand instead of a trash bag. My ex-spouse changed lawyers three times during the case, but I stayed with Gary all the way....and I'm glad I did. Gary came up against 2 Downtown Boston law firms, one of whom dispatched two lawyers to work against him. He was undaunted and in the end, negotiated in a most professional manner for a mutually agreeable result. I am not a lawyer, but work with lawyers and paralegals every day. Gary Avratin – ‘ The Man, The Myth, The Legend’. This MAN definitely knows what he is doing, my case involved complex international removal of my 2 children, Gary was not the lawyer I originally started the case with, I came to Gary in the middle of the case when things went completely bad. It is not easy to take a case in the middle of its proceeding and that too when it is about to go to trial and unravel the past issues, But this man did it. It is still a MYTH for me as to how he unraveled the past messes and turned the table. He is a true LEGEND, very professional, trusted advisor who guides and directs the client in the right path and sets the right expectation in terms of outcomes. I'm hoping there's enough characters to comment on my lawyer Gary & his asst Helene. I was recommended by two different sources, so I hoped & prayed this would be my guy. As fate would have it, I couldn't have been more ecstatic with my experience over a two year period to finalize my divorce. Gary has represented me on a number of occasions against what i consider to be an incredibly intimidating, aggressive attorney. Gary fought to the fullest in a professional manner. I highly recommend gary and Heleen. Gary got me custody of my two daughters that are now 15 and 12 years old. I was dealing with a woman that wanted to take me to the cleaners. Its a happy ending. This is the second time writing about Gary my name is David Prokup and i just want to thank Gary and Helene for putting up with me and they say tell me i was one of there toughest clients but they put up with me. I'm proud to say we have come to the end of my battle for my son for now and he got me everything i could ever ask for and more. Gary is a busy lawyer for a good reason. He's smart, driven to find the truth, detailed, hard working, results oriented and he cares about your family and genuinely wants to help you. He knows the law, he knows the players and he knows how to get the best outcome. To merely say he'll work hard for you and your family is an understatement-he's in the office early (5:30 AM) and works late. As a Father in Massachusetts, I knew I would have a difficult time. Gary put me to work and together we dug for the details. Honestly, some of the things we found surprised me. Then Gary went above and beyond with his own research. His philosophy is that he'd rather have the facts and not need them, than to need the facts and not have them. He then compiled everything, organized a strategy and delivered results. I would strongly recommend Gary Avratin to anyone in the process of or contemplating divorce. I had been working with an attorney who spent quite a bit of time telling me what a judge will do and how what I was looking for was near impossible to get. Unhappy hearing this I took the advice of a friend and went to Gary. He reviewed the case and came up with an opinion that was 180 degrees different from the first attorney. Within weeks of hiring him, he had turned the entire process around and kept a steady course which ended in a settlement that provided everything I was asking for. My children are safe, our home is intact, and he had stopped what could have been a tragic outcome for my children. Much credit goes to his assistant Helene LoConte who works hand in hand with Gary making sure he has the information needed as well as the proper preparation of all the documents.They are quite a team. Gary has very high work standards. He was always available to answer my questions and immediately addressed my concerns when problems developed. He helped me through the filing process and was very thorough in his preparation. When we got to court, the judge said, "you have done all my work for me", and immediately gave us another date to finalize our procedure. His efficiency constantly amazed me. I had been married for over 50 years and began to have doubts about my actions. Gary never told me what to do, although I did ask him several times. He was supportive and compassionate and guided me through what to expect in the divorce proceedings. He firmly told me I had to make my own decision about my actions. Gary is intelligent and extremely knowledgable of the law. He worked very hard for my case, and didn't back down, nor did he let me back down, when my ex was being stubborn and intimidating. Gary is very busy, and sometimes has trouble finding time to get back to messages that aren't emergencies, but he does get back soon. Any emergency I experienced (changing locks on doors or hospital visits) were addressed immediately. He carries a cell phone which is only for emergencies, and he will answer. Gary was also very proactive in anticipating problems that would arise such as hidden money or clever bookkeeping. I would recommend him hands down. |

Gary came highly recomended from a family member and quickly exceeded all expectations. He provides all in depth information on MA. divorce law and insists his clients learn it. This was key to his ability to quickly and efficiently handle my case. Gary is highly respected in court and quickly dispatched the "pit bull" attorney of my ex-wife. Gary is highly compassionate and worked out a fair settlement after my ex-wifes attorney recused himself from the case, working with both of us to get the divorce done quickly. Gary came highly recommended to me by a close friend. His retainer fee is more than most, but I would have paid more had I known the kind of service I would receive. Gary EXCELS in his profession. He is extremely well known and respected throughout the court system. Gary is the only lawyer in his practice, so you know it will be HIM that you are meeting with and HIM that will be representing you in court. Attorney Avratin was recommended to me by my brother, a fellow Attorney. I owe a debt of gratitude to Gary for helping me gain sole physical and legal custody of my daughter within 6 months. Make no mistake about it, if you are reading this, you are about to embark on an expensive and difficult journey filled with frustration. However, if you remain patient and work hard, I guarantee he will work hard for you. Gary is intelligent, resourceful, organized and determined. He will educate you on necessary preparation, the affidavit, the hearing, your court appearance, court-ordered hair follicle testing, discovery and the deposition. As a male, you may not get custody right away, but you will be able to "set the table" for future actions. My advice is to be honest, trust your attorney and have faith in the system. I have known Gary for 11 years. I was excellently represented by his father for my divorce over 10 years ago. The real battle came though when my children were in need, that is when I hired Gary. He has sensitivity towards all of his clients, but if you ever find yourself involved in a matter of custody or child abuse, Gary is the lawyer you want in the courtroom. Gary’s hard work & ability to prevail even under the utmost pressure was amazing. His presence & undying determination in the court room was unwaivered. Gary's representation was superb. He worked extremely diligently with me from start to finish, clearly explaining the process every step of the way. His legal advice was top notch, and he was able to predict accurately and thus address issues ahead of time, saving me time, money, and aggravation. Gary's notetaking, organization, dedication to his clients, and overall expertise with the law made the entire divorce process much more tolerable. Despite the complexities of my case, the divorce proceedings took only 9 months to complete. This is solely due to Gary's knowledge, work habits, tenacity, and overall skill set. Gary works at 5am and always gets to the bottom line of my phone call...my issue...my problem. While other lawyers might be 400 and even higher, Gary is a little less. He's worth it though. |
