Being arrested is traumatic. He told me he was a good lawyer, and I believed him. He said that there was something wrong with the arrest, that something about the arrest wasn't "good," it "wasn't a clean arrest." He did absolutely nothing about that. I found out later that I could have taken legal action against the plaintiff and won, but when I originally brought up the subject of suing, he was too timid to go after this organization. He told me to get another lawyer if I wanted to take legal action. I was being harassed by someone from the organization but Hylan said, “Just ignore it.” Why wouldn’t he help me? He pretended to be my friend and said that I was one of the most intelligent clients he ever had. He eventually accused me of lying to him, “Of course you lied. All defendants lie.” I told him that I’d always been honest with him. He laughed at me, “If that’s true, then you’re the only defendant in any justice system who has ever told the truth.” |

You place trust in a lawyer to represent you, often at the worst of times in your life – this man will fail you at that time!
You will find this lawyer to be charming and upfront, honest and sincere, and full of ambition and hope. All will be well for a period of time. He’ll then proclaim he represents are scum. He will turn against you at the slightest stress or resistance against what he claimed he would deliver.
He’ll even go so far as to leverage or extort the payment by stating he’ll reverse the hard work he’s done on your behalf. He will attempt to intimidate you - playing on anything you've told him in confidence.
Ask for a bill and a written contract, ask anything he may have promised upfront, anything in writing and he will refuse. In fact he’ll begin to get agitated – often irate, unprofessional, and irrational.
This man is nothing but a game. We took time to post this message; a very blatant point … AVOID this lawyer. |

One of the worsts lawyers in Norristown! I hired Joseph Hylan and he was a complete disgrace. He stole my money and never showed up for my trial. When I asked him for my money back he claimed I never paid him. Plus he is very old. |

He was horrible. He had me convinced I hired the best lawyer in the world. He is full of it! He is full of himself! Even the judge commented on how he was expecting a lot more. I would have done better representing myself. He also gets nasty when you start to question him. |
