I first discovered Jill while in divorce court with my attorney. Watching her interact with her client, other attorneys and the judge, I wished she were representing me. I was impressed with her ability to be forceful yet respectful. Her preparedness and knowledge were very apparent and her communication skills, superb. Needless to say, my case dragged on so I did switch to Jill. It was the best decision. Not only did the situation come to a quick resolution, her fees were less than my previous attorney (who I could never find when I was in court). Her compassion was so reassuring at a time I needed it most. In summary, I felt well cared for as I knew she was there for me. Should have hired her from the beginning! |

Jill is very,very over priced. She behaves superior to her clients and is condescending to them. You will be charged for every phone call even missed ones and voice mails etc. Communication is demeaning and rude at times. Don't recommend at all. |

Jill just finished my case, and boy am I glad that I read these reviews and hired her. She is extremely compassionate and knows her stuff. First and foremost, she was there for me, and she always gives you a straight answer without all the legal mumbo jumbo that I can't understand. She mede it easier. I knew she really cared about ME, and my case. She is very professional! |

Defintely intmidating and pushy - looking only to pad her wallet. Wsh I had read the article in 2010 - big mistake. A bulldog indeed but compassion is lacking, she is all about making a buck. And I won my case |

This woman is phenomonal as a divorce/family court lawyer.She fights hard for her client's position, and she lets you know how things are going to go up there in that crazy court. Also, she returns ALL of your phone calls, usually in quick fashion, unless she is in court all day. She even called me back at night! Great communication skills! I highly recommend her, and I will pick her again, when/if I have to go back to court. Thank You. |

I just read the Pro Jo article and I am very disappointed in my choice of Jill Votta as my lawyer. She does not appear to be concerned about the client so much as charging $350 per hour to a woman who could ill afford such fees. Regardless of what the client signed, she is still a person who placed her trust in Jill Votta and in return was sued in Superior Court. If Jill is such a fine lawyer she should have resolved this issue with her client well before it reached the point of making it into a lead article in the Providence Journal. This is not good press for Jill Votta or for the Rhode Island Bar Association. Old school lawyers like Jill Votta need to seriously rethink their value in the legal marketplace. Clearly Jill Votta's value as a laywer has diminished as a result of her interaction with this client. |

Been my attorney for about 33 years now. She knows the law and communicates her knowledge so that anyone can understand it. She is like a bulldog in court and that is what I pay her for. She is expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. I have used her for Family Court and real estate matters. |

Jill Votta came highly recommended by the two lawyers I trust most in the world. She is thoughtful, smart, practical, thorough and tough when she needs to be. I left court chanting out loud: thank God I listened to her! |

This lawyer is fabulous! I was at the worst point in my life, and she got me through it all. I felt like she was my lawyer and my protector. She is professional, on time, and always calls back--always the same day-very quickly. When I buy my house or condo with the settlement she got for me, I will definitely call her to represent me. She is also a real estate expert. I saw her on TV for the RI Bar Association, and on a show for other RI Bar Assn. topics. Unequivocally, she is the best, and I would never go to anyone else. If you truly want a great caring lawyer, you should call Jill Votta. |

I found Jill Votta by accident/while in line at a store a woman said she did not know if she had enough money to pay for her grocery bill/Jill with out saying anything paid/ the womans bill/ the woman asked who that was and she was told it was Jill Votta -he then added she is a lawyer.So when I needed a lwayer to help with closing on my home I call Jill/Jill always called me back and even called me on a Sunday night to answer my questions/so if you need a great lawyer who is kind/responsible and will get the job done call Jill. |

I have retained Jill Votta for real estate matters and family court issues on several occaisions. She is compassionate and hard working.She is also extremely thorough and a great communicator. Unlike other attorneys, she always returns your phone call on the day that you call, even if it is 7p.m.,and she has been in court all day. Also, unlike other lawyers, she is always on time for closings, appointments with me, and for court. I highly recommend her as a personal lawyer. |

Wasted time holding us in the office so she could bill for the whole hour. Asked us to bring in personal documents (bank and stock info) and took all these notes, yet didn't use the info for anything. Billed 15 mins to read a 5 line fax. Was not pleasant to deal with - intiminating and pushy. I would NOT recommend using. |
