Mr. Borders did not provide any accounting for billable hours and refused to do so unless, he could charge for providing a statement for his services. He provided no retainer agreement, no fee disclosure for his hourly billing. Our particular case was never even heard in court. It was dismissed. No refund was made of the sizeable retainer and no accounting provided to prove that the retainer had been fully dispersed. He met with my son once and my husband once for one hour each. I have never retained a lawyer in my life who did not provide an accounting of their services, right down to postage costs. I believe this to be legal malpractice.
