In June 2011, I retained the services of Bruce Alford to represent me in a matter concerning the sale of my mother's home in Houston. The documents required for closing were made impossibly confusing by the past and current actions of the attorney in Houston. Bruce came on board and in short order his experience in the field was apparent as he calmly, but forcefully brought opposing parties to agreement in time to meet the closing date. This was an extremely stressful, emotional time for me, and Bruce guided me through this tough time, always quick to respond when I needed information. In addition to his legal expertise, he is empathetic, supportive, and trustworthy. Laurie |

Bruce is a very professional and competent attorney, always followed through on everything he promised. Stellar knowledge of the law, and great in the courtroom. He was always caring and was genuinely concerned about my case. Knew how to handle every tough situation we came up against, and I always felt he had my best interests in mind. Bruce helped me through one of the darkest parts of my life, and I will always be grateful to him. |

Our matter was handled quickly and very professionally with the result we were looking for. I wish working with all professionals could be this positive. |

We paid $1000.00 plus $250.00 in court cost. I repeatily had to redo and update paperwork. Long story short, we got nothing. Mr. Alford never took the case to court nor did he return the court fees. According to the other reviews I'm confused as to why Mr. Alford did not treat us the way he did the first reviewer. It just makes me wonder why one guy gets great service while the rest of us didn't. |

Bruce has done a great job on many of my cases that are pending and has been very aggressive on negotiations. |

Bruce may know the law but it takes him so long to do anything you don't know if what he ends up doing is because he's had to consult with others or because he is just slow with EVERYTHING he does. He rarely returns phone calls or e-mails, which is extremely frustrating. You sometimes end up wondering who exactly is the client. Maybe he's just terribly unorganized, but deadlines are missed, and sometimes important ones. Be sure to ask to proofread documentation -- we've had to corret a lot of things -- including the sex of the client!! Without constant phone calls and e-mails to follow up on next steps, we're not sure WHAT would get done. |

Not much happens without repeated prodding from client. Work is often incomplete, unfinished. Takes weeks to return client calls or emails. Seems bright in person, but definitely not an aggressive, go-getter attorney. |
