Don't waste your time rating on Martindale.com

Back on November 23rd I submitted a rating and review on Kevin Prendergast to the Martindale review website.(please see my previous post about this guy) The next day, I received a verification email from them and promptly responded. As of today, the review had still not been posted. So I called them to find out why. They are supposed to get back with me on this. However, in my conversation with them I found out that the lawyers are allowed to suppress reviews at will. Now to be fair to the Martindale site, if a lawyer does elect to suppress a review, than all reviews are suppressed, both good and bad. But to someone looking at that lawyers profil, all it will say, (if that lawyer has suppressed the reviews,) is that the lawyer has not been reviewed. It does not tell you that the lawyer has suppressed the reviews or anything like that. Just that he has no reviews. I could understand giving the lawyers the ability to suppress reviews that are not validated, but they allow them to suppress ligitimet reviews as well with no indication that this has happened. What a worthless and deceptive "service" Martindale is providing to the public. Deceptive because it allows unscrupulous lawyers to appear as just not being rated. And if you read their disclaimer, it states that... Because an attorney or law firm has no reviews, that is not to be misconstrued as a negative. I hammered there review department just now. I hope you will take the time to go on their website, get their number, and hammer them on this also. I would post the number, but I don't think that would be aloud here.

I have been burned like you by an incompetent and unscrupulous so called lawyer named Jeffrey Hoffer and have rated him on lawyerratingz.com to warn others, He is internet savy and uses it to market himself (read his rating and you see he rates himself to foul people) and I would like expose him and warn others. Same is true of Gary Avratin (MA) on this site (and others). Shows off his computing "prowess" in his office, but that doesn't translate to prowess in the courtroom representing his clients.

A look at his reviews (http://www.lawyerratingz.com/ratings/1419/Lawyer-Gary-Avratin.html) shows that most are written by him or his staff. I posted my review on him in Apr 2008, and it was deleted a while later. I reported several of his obviously self-written postings and fortunately they were removed (a tranche of 18 reviews, bringing himn down from 43 to about 26 was removed in early 2011), but others have surfaced since then.

Other negative reviews (at least 7) have also mysteriously been removed from this arrogant idiot's ratings ... strange indeed!

I guess the best we can do is keep reporting the posts that are obviously written from within ...

Lawyers.com is also a site similar to this. If you say anything negative about an attorney,it will NOT be posted! This site is obviously a pro attorney site which is very biased. I`m sure that if you have something good to say about a lawyer,they WOULD allow that! Another obvious strand in the web of evil and corruption.
